I've been visiting this restaurant more often than I probably should, but I've recently noticed a troubling attitude when placing simple orders, like a 16-piece chicken. It seems they're either out of stock or reluctant to cook a fresh batch before closing. The latest I can arrive is between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., but it feels like the person behind the counter has complete control over whether to fulfill orders, and the attitude is really off-putting. I called to place a phone order and was put on hold for 10 minutes. After driving all the way from Compton to Avalon, I finally reached them, but they acted as if I was still on hold. I informed them that I had been waiting, but their customer service was lacking. The staff was rude and displayed what felt like racist behavior. One of the employees mentioned they were very busy, but it didn’t seem that way—only one other person was waiting for their food. Overall, my experience was disappointing due to the poor service and rudeness I encountered.
Steer clear of visiting on Fridays! The wait for orders was excessively long. This will be my final visit, as I can't tolerate the delays any longer. Typically, I call in my order and allow them 20-30 minutes to get it ready, but on Fridays, I end up waiting an annoying 45 minutes before heading out. That said, the food is outstanding: 5/5!
I really love their chicken, but I'm quite worried about the wait time, especially since there aren't enough social distancing measures in place. The food is a fantastic value for the portion sizes. I have noticed that the spice level can vary with each visit, which adds a bit of unpredictability! That said, I actually enjoy a bit of spice, so it doesn't bother me.
The best Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken in Southern California! The staff here is extremely friendly and welcoming. A huge shoutout to everyone who took care of us!
