Lou's Lagrotto - Tisch reservieren

Lou's LaGrotto is an institution. It's been in business for longer than I've been alive and when you eat there it is obvious why. Italian food is the fare. Pizza is the obvious choice. I ordered a Hawaiian I know, I know pineapple doesn't go on pizza) thin crust. The dough along with most of the bread seems to be made in house. The crust was thin and crisp with a great flavor. The toppings were what you would expect. The grated parm on the table was clearly grated in house. The day I went, I showed up with 25 people, I'm sure they weren't too excited but they accommodated us and served us in a timely manner. Great food, great service, good prices. Friends invited us to join them here on a Saturday night. The place was very easy to find and to find parking. The handicap parking is pretty limited but was very accessible. The restaurant was also accessible and not real crowded. The restaurant was clean and seating was well spaced. The service was outstanding and the meal flowed from drinks and appetizers through the pizza. The drinks were very good and the alcohol was plentiful. We ordered dough nuggeta and sauce and a thin crust pizza, the pizza was good but the nuggets were not that great, some were very soggy while others were hard. I personally would not order those again but I would return for drinks and pizza.

This pizza is the best pizza I have ever experinced. Period. The first time we went there we tried to order extra cheese and they stopped us. There's so much cheese on it already, they told us, that if we put anymore cheese on it the pizza won't cook properly. Oh my lord, are they correct. So much cheese, and good cheese too! They also know how to properly make roasted red peppers for the pizza, that alone makes me stop in. It really doesn't get any better than this.

I live in Florida where deep dish pizza is nonexistent . Love the Taco Pizza and garlic nuggets. Always a plus when I come home to visit family and friends.
