The smart' restaurants in southern France seem to be about vertical cooking' with food piled high, and splashes of colour all around the perimeter of your plate. This place is about excellent plain country cooking. Simple and incredibly tasty. We came from a lovely morning...walk at the Bimont dam outside Aix, and happened upon this place across the road from the entrance. There were only two other tables being served it's late October, and they are no longer open during the week once November comes but we got a warm welcome from the family that runs it. What happiness for our taste buds than to come and spend a moment at the end of Saint Mark! both the dishes offered (on the menu and on the menu) and the welcome are excellent. come in love, as well as in the family we have never been disappointed by the different homemade dishes offered: we have been able to taste a salmon tartare, mango and passion fruit, as well as a goose tatare, a foie gras terrine or slices of lambs long cooking or ... you will have understood that we will not lack praise on the kitchen. the shaded terrace, thanks to many trees, including a beautiful plane tree murier, gives an unparalleled view of the holy victory, with a little more if you come a day of full moon aro...
We've visited L'Oustau de St Marc several times on previous trips to Aix-en-Provence and have happy memories of its good food and lovely outdoor setting. Unfortunately we were disappointed when we revisited it on Saturday evening. While the setting is still good, the food was...quite average. While we enjoyed the fois gras entre, the lamb main course was worse than average and the duck just acceptable. The deserts also were poor. The fixed price meal was still quite cheap maybe too cheap to maintain the former good quality.
June 30, 2017 two covered for lunch on the terrace; two menus at 30 € (plus 3€ if foie gras) good value /price; the card for all tastes. our reaction is aroused by the reading of some depreciative comments that we do not share. the relaxing and comfortable setting, the friendly welcome, the service of the aperitif to dessert all contributed to the success of the digestive meal at the digestive dam to recommend. We arrived quite late to Aix-en-Provence, and hurried off to the nearest restaurant to our house rental, which turned out (happily) to be L'Oustau de Saint Marc. The setting was beautiful in the outdoor garden, with a full moon adding to the ambiance. The service...and the meal were exceptional. We particularly enjoyed the foie gras, the Loup de Mer, and the Tranche de Brioche. We will return again to this truly lovely restaurant!
it had risen to lunch and so pleased that we did. with its terrace sitting opportunity under shadow perfect for a sunny day, chose the course menu offer the eating was amazing and the service was excellent, this is a must visit place when they are in the opposite many thanks for this experience.

both the different dishes of the menu and the reception or service were excellent. We tasted original and delicate dishes, we had a waitress for us. A great time with family.
