Food and service were both terrible. The whole sea bass came with its skin so tightly bound to the flesh, it was impossible to separate from meat and bones. A request for help to remove bones was denied with a sniffing excuse about legal liability, and after a laborious rejection the fish was cold and old. The waitress always asked if my friend wanted a milk sauce after telling her milk allergy, and then suggested "real Earl Gray" when he was asked for herbal tea. When we dared to complain about the indefinite fish, managers Yves from France insisted on charging us and then insulted us. I wonder why all the tables were empty except us. Maybe other people know not to go there when the Tuesday...
Took my husband for his Bday. We did the Chef’s whim tasting menu with wine pairing. Everything was spectacular! We shared our preferences up front and they accommodated my aversion to goat cheese and my husband’s fear of steak tartare. Chef received an à la minute delivery of sea bass and one of our courses wasn’t even on the menu! I particularly appreciate the lack of attitude and preciousness when our server described each plate and wine. We had soup, scallops, sea bass, duck and a chocolate dessert. Portions are generous. Very interesting and unique wines. We won’t be waiting for another special occasion to return! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Very disappointing. Not on a French menu was the food very bland and uninteresting and ridiculously expensive. We were willing to pay the prices for some good rich authentic French dishes, but after living in France, I was disappointed to find nothing recognizable as 'French' on the menu and the food we ordered was nothing special either I cook better at home. Make yourself a favor and go for one of the Italian high-end restaurants in Newton, this is not worth the effort....:
Amazing experience. The warm, inviting lighting and comfortable seating create a cozy atmosphere, and it's pleasantly quiet—ideal for a nice dinner with parents. While it's on the pricier side, the food is truly exceptional.
