I came here specifically for the oysters, and they did not disappoint—very fresh and delicious. The staff at the Oyster Bar were incredibly helpful in guiding me through the selection process. I really enjoy the main bar area; it features a large square that dominates the center of the restaurant, creating a lively atmosphere. For happy hour, the place is decent, but I wish they had better specials and pricing. Fish dishes tend to be on the pricier side, so keep that in mind. As for the food, everything was quite enjoyable! I especially loved the lobster and crab ravioli; it was creamy and packed with seafood. I could still taste substantial pieces of crab and lobster—it was truly a standout dish. They don’t offer a wide variety of oysters—just two options: Fanny Bay Eastern oysters (they didn’t specify the type). I enjoyed both, but I preferred the Eastern ones. They had a slightly briny sweetness, a smooth texture, and a delightful ocean aftertaste. Absolutely fresh oysters! We also tried the crispy fish sandwich and the Veracruz fish chowder, both of which were excellent. The atmosphere was lovely, and the overall flavors were great!
Inside seating was spacious and the food was good. Our server was attentive and quick to take our order and check on us. The chips to the guacamole were a little stale, they didn’t have the crunch I would have expected. The calamari was pretty great though, not chewy and very flavorful. The drinks were well portioned and delicious. I was not pleased with the swordfish, but the spicy shrimp linguini was good and so was the creamed corn side and the lobster and crab ravioli. I would come back again but I would order differently.
11/03/2021 Thanks for Shepel Construction Inc. to bring the Upscale Fish House to The Vineyards at Porter Ranch, Calif. The total capacity is 298 seats, including outdoor patio. The patio chair is very comfortable, and the ambience is very good. The grand opening is Friday, Nov. 5, 2021 at 4:00 PM. For the time being, only dinner is provided. Delicious fish tacos during Happy Hour! They offer three taco options: grilled fish ($6), Baja fish ($6), and blackened salmon ($7), but you can only order one. Everything on the Happy Hour menu is seafood. The cocktails are priced at $12, which includes a $2 discount. Overall, I found the Happy Hour prices to be a bit higher than what I'm used to. On a brighter note, the key lime pie is fantastic! I've been known to visit just for a slice of their key lime pie!
Overall, it was a pleasant dinner experience. I ordered the tuna, which was tasty and paired well with sweet potato fries and pineapple coleslaw. The sweet potato fries were excellent! We also loved starting our meal with oysters, and the house bread was enjoyable as well. I would definitely return to this restaurant! The only downside was the seating arrangement; we were placed at a booth in the middle of the dining area, which felt a bit strange.
Absolutely delicious and the staff was super friendly! We ordered ceviche to start and for entrees we had the whole grilled branzino and the Seabass. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that the Seabass was slightly over cooked which made it a little tougher for such a delicate fish. The branzino was cooked perfectly and the side of pineapple coleslaw went well with it.
The service was very friendly, and the food was quite good. Be prepared for slightly higher prices; my salad was $16. Lure is always a favorite when we are in Westlake village. We ordered charbroiled oysters and crab cakes and oh my goodness...so so good.
