Went here for a meal whilst visiting Skipton on holiday. The serving staff were very pleasant and attentive, quickly took drinks order and left us to peruse the menu, which is extensive. I plumped for the crispy wun tuns, chicken with green peppers in black bean sauce and noodles. I have never had wun tuns like these before, instead of the small crispy wrappers with a pin **** of prawn in the middle, I got three huge wun tuns which were crammed full of minced prawn and wrapped in a pancake skin, tied in a bow and deep fried to a superb crisp...yum. I love dining at Lychee, it's a real treat! The staff is always friendly and attentive, and the food is of extremely high quality, delicious, and not greasy like many other Chinese restaurants and takeaways. We always opt for the set menu, which comes with huge portions. When there are four of us, we order the menu for three and just add an extra starter, which is plenty for us. Our favorites include the amazing mixed starter, sweet and sour chicken, and prawn with cashew nuts. While the prices may be slightly higher, they are well worth it for the quality of the food. We were greeted at the door with a warm welcome and friendly faces. Despite having no reservation (and coming at a busy hour) we were quickly seated next to a beautiful picture of a city skyline and overlooking the Skipton canal. After drinks were served a sexy, muscular and quite frankly a hunk of a man took our order, with the suave and expertise I’ve never seen on a man so young and handsome we eagerly took his recommendation for the chicken and sweetcorn soup, it was to die for! We went for the first time last night and had the set banquet meal with the duck option. Delicious food courses spaced apart perfectly. The chicken in black bean was the best I’ve ever had, not the usual boiled chicken pieces you get at other places. Duck course was delicious and the whole meal with drinks was less than £60 which I thought was really reasonable! Really good service too from the waiters/waitresses. Our first visit. We were very impressed with the quality of the food and the excellent service from the friendly and efficient staff. Having visited many chinese restaurants I would rate this very highly. There is an extensive menu and the dishes we had were all superbly presented and the quality of the ingredients was outstanding. My Husband left his phone and glasses and the owner was even kind enough to call and let me know. All in all a very enjoyable evening and we are looking forward to another visit soon.
We went out for our annual Christmas Eve meal, with a member of our party who works here! The food was excellent with no complaints. The portions were generous and reasonably priced. The waiting staff were attentive and friendly, just as expected. We will definitely be returning. Everyone in our group enjoyed themselves!
06/07/22 ordered crispy beef with sweet chilli and Cantonese chicken curry. The rice that came with it was just a solid lump that you could not separate, the crispy beef was soggy beef and the Cantonese chicken curry was just a basic chip shop curry! Very poor quality and expensive!
Probably one of the best chinese meals we have ever had, we are in our sixties so we have had some over the years, food top quality, really nice staff, cannot recommend enough, we will definitely be coming back and we live in Wakefield 40 miles away. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Looking over the canal, this is a fantastic Chinese restaurant on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Well Priced and great portions with specials. Would happily go back when in the area.
