As newcomers to Dumont, my wife and I were eager to explore the local dining scene. We anticipated a pleasant experience, but what we discovered was nothing short of extraordinary. The food was exceptional, beautifully prepared, and the portions generous. Since our initial visit, we've returned several times and have always been satisfied. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, and both the owner and staff, as well as fellow diners, are incredibly friendly. If you're in the mood for excellent home-cooked meals, I highly recommend giving Mabel’s a try.
Terrible service... Our waitress was wonderful, but the owner's sister, who was cooking, was very loud and swearing within earshot of all the customers. She complained about the size of our order and my husband's request for his eggs. To make matters worse, she told a paying customer that if he wanted more coffee, he should "get off your ass and get it yourself" because she was on break and the restaurant was closed. That level of rudeness is unacceptable... We will definitely not be coming back!
My family went to Mabel's for lunch, and it was exactly what we were looking for. I was pleased to see a great selection of delicious pasta salads at the salad bar. In our group, we tried the tenderloin, the hot beef sundae, and the salmon, and all the portions were generous with high-quality, flavorful food. I would definitely recommend visiting Mabel's if you're in the area or just passing through. The service was outstanding, and the decor was quite lovely too.
I had my first meal there today, and it was fantastic! The restaurant is spotless, and the food is incredible. It really captures the essence of charming small-town dining at its finest. The service was attentive and friendly as well. I will definitely be coming back!

I rode my bike 10 miles in the rain, only to find out the restaurant was closed, even though it was supposed to be open during those hours. What a disappointment!
