My husband and I decided to celebrate a small achievement with brunch at Mad Rooster and we were extremely pleased with our choice! It had been quite some time since I had dined in at Mad Rooster, usually opting for takeout because of the long wait times and crowded restaurant. Went in on a Sunday 10 am -met 2 girlfriends for breakfast/brunch. This restaurant is ALWAYS busy. Do yourself a favor and add yourself to the wait list available here on Yelp. That worked fantastically for us. Very pleased with that. Your whole party must be there to be seated. Pretty standard. There are always groups of people waiting and their parking lot is hairy scary- because customers stop randomly in the middle of anywhere and leave their car to go get their food at the pick up area and all flow in or out of the lot stops. Place was pretty busy so we got on a waitlist ahead of time. Once we arrived we waited another 5 minutes and got seated. The wait time when driving was about 30-40 minutes so we didn't mind it. For drinks we just got water and orange juice, which the orange juice tasted freshly squeezed. The decor inside is super cute, barn like, just how I figured it would be, also makes it feel cozy. Food wise we ordered gluten free pancakes with bananas and a side of sausage links 6/10, I finished one pancakes which it was just okay. I came across this restaurant on Yelp and decided to have breakfast before the Brewers/Cubs game this afternoon. My companion had the pigs in a blanket, which had excellent sausage with just the right amount of spice to complement the syrup for the pancakes. We visited during our trip to Milwaukee on the way to Madison. The restaurant is conveniently located near the stadium. After having bad luck with food two nights in a row.We decided to give this place a try. Being from chicago, finding good food anytime we travel is always a mission. When we saw that there were large groups of people waiting outside, we knew this place wasn't going to disappoint!! I had the MAD omelette with fruit and pancakes, my partner got the steak Ranchera both were amazing. We also shared the Crispy-Crunchy Cinnamon french toast, we honestly could have gone without. We stopped in here for breakfast on our way back home to Chicago. It was pretty crowded for a Sunday morning, but our party of 2 was seated immediately (more of a wait for larger parties). Hands down the best breakfast I've have in years. This place falls within the top 10 all time in my life and I've been to some good places. Ok maybe I'm going a little over board right now but I'm thinking about how good that ****** Mary (with a corona) and the home fried pork chops were and it's giving me chills. Just go here ... order any thing ... you will not be disappointed.
