Fantastic place! I was scared to go because most of the reviews say the food is not that great. But they were wrong. Everything me and my friends ordered was delicious! Also, the ambiance was beautiful! They had a lady playing the harp. The waitress did such an amazing job! She was polite and patient with us. We were there for about 3 hours and no one told us it was time to leave. The waitress took several pictures of us. However, what really lowered my rating was the 20% service charge labeled as a "historic venue fee" for just four people having tea. This practice is outrageous and quite shameful. This wasn’t a private venue rental; it was simply lunch during normal operating hours. If you need to increase your prices, then just do it; charging $66 and $75 per person for high tea is already pushing it. Had I known that there would be a 20% charge that doesn’t even go to the server, I might have considered another place, as it feels quite shady.

Agree with another review While the atmosphere is gorgeous exterior, tho interior a bit dull. Food was 50/50 scones were the reasons I came here for, but definitely not up to standards we have in hotels. Pressed coffee we had to pay additional $14 despite it was a big pot but it was bland, my guest complaint. We want quality not quantity. In addition, they automatically added 20% svc. But there is only one girl who wasn’t always around, which is fine. But not fine to auto add 20% on the bill.Would I come here again? Definitely not.
First time coming here at MGBV on a Saturday(Mother's Day weekend). I was contacted about 5 to 6 times confirming my reservation at 11:15 AM, May 11th. I received an email, 3 text messages and 1 missed call. Anyway, servers are super friendly and accommodating. However, I was turned off that they upped the prices because it was mother's day weekend and included a mandatory service charge.

Great place for a celebratory high tea or brunch. There is a harpist! The people are very helpful and can give you suggestions. Feels like you’ve crossed a portal through space and time, a great option for a special date — saw lots of English period drama fan gal pals of all ages, too. Enjoyed wonderful tea, very good brunch, and live harp music, cool decor. Will come back for some high tea.
Very cute, dainty, pretty place. Great for brunch with the girlies. The portions are actually quite big and everything is aesthetically pleasing. Come for brunch or high tea.

The space is comfortable and luxurious, the meals are generous, and it’s easy to take photos. It’s a great place to have English afternoon tea.
It's one of my favorite places for brunch in Pasadena. I usually go for the Crab Benedict.
