Had a great time with friends! The food was really enjoyable overall, although a couple of my friends from Germany, who have been living here for 20 years, wished it was a bit more authentic. The atmosphere was fantastic. However, our waitress appeared a bit stressed and unhappy, and she did forget a few orders from our group. I would recommend having extra staff on hand for large groups to help reduce the pressure on the servers, especially during busy times, even if that might be tough to manage in the evening.
We had an 8:00 reservation, but ended up eating at the bar. We had a show that started at 9:30, which we didn't know about at the time of the reservation. Given that it was New Year's Eve, some delays were to be expected. Fortunately, there was enough space at the bar for all four of us to have dinner. The bartender/server was fantastic, and we managed to finish in time for our show.
Outstanding German restaurant. If you're not familiar with German dishes and on fence on whether you'd like this place, don't let that affect your decision. We had a steak entrée and chicken entrée that was absolutely delicious. Plenty of sauerkraut if you want though! Delicious desserts (Apple strudel for us) and great selection of drinks. Absolutely beautiful atmosphere as well.
I love German food and have eaten at Mader's in the past. But the two dishes I had tasted nothing like I have had in the past. I suspect they have a new chef. NEVER eat in the bar. It is loud. My waiter was new and it was evident Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Everything was excellent!! Deserves 1000 stars! Great food, staff is perfect, ideal and authentic atmosphere!! If you haven’t dined at Mader’s yet, you need to!!
A great restaurant to experience German culture and quazine accompanied by a great staff that leaves a sense of satisfaction.
It was hard to find parking, but it's expected for downtown. Overall, the food and atmosphere was great.
