I called to book a table for dinner to be told the pub closes at 730pm on a Saturday night. I made a booking for 7pm. We arrived and were greeted by a man who appeared to be serving, cooking, running the bar and filling takeaway orders.We waited 20-25 minutes and didnt even see the man of all trades again, we didnt get to order dinner, not even order a drink. Given there was only 5-10 minutes until close and another table of 6 people also waiting we left with 2 hungry grumpy children in search of food. It was really disappointing.
Fantastic meals here, excellent service too. Glad it wasn't too crazy busy although there was a large birthday group in the next room. The mains were all top class meals and our only minor suggestion is that the desserts could do with a bit of a tweak. All of ours were just average. Loved the decor and the care taken with the look and feel of the interior.
Excellent food and service. Family friendly place, with paper for toddler to doodle while waiting for food. Loved the risotto and chicken roulade! The apple crumble was also amazing (loved the coconut flakes on top). Would recommend to anyone passing by the Clare region, however do need to note that it's not in the typical Clare valley region
Excellent food, friendly service and great atmosphere. Definitely recommend booking ahead for weekend dining as this historic pub is a popular destination and we were lucky to get a table. Both the regular and gluten-free Stump Burgers were amazing, the chicken schnitzel was beautiful and everyone loved the chips.

What a fabulous pub in a quaint setting. I had the special of the day which was mussels my goodness they were good! Hubby’s burger looked amazing too the kids could draw all over the paper table liner. Really enjoyable and lovely service.

Great lunch menu and a welcome smile was a treat we endured with gusto. This is a great country pub with friendly attitude that's hard to beat. Looking forward to my next visit.
If someone took over this pub and renovated it to bring out all its charm and history, accompanied by good service and food, many more people would enjoy a visit to Mintaro.

Lovely old authentic pub with a nice grassed lawn in the sun among classic heritage buildings in a quaint little village. Well worth a visit. Delicious meals.
