Major Toms A Burger Junkie

It was my boys choice for lunch and happened upon this little burger cafe on Waverely Rd. The name is clever and amusing but the burgers were seriously filling and satisfying. Meat patty was Wagyu mince, choice of 100-200gm patties or stack them 3x for a huge burger. Chicken burgers also available. The menu read like poetry or song but ingredients were very fresh. The secret sauce had us all guessing....hint of aioli and gherkin me thinks? Chips were crispy, not overly salted and generously served in an all-American style chunky-chip-way. Exceptional southern fried chicken tenders with the secret sauce....yum!!!! Proper napkins to wipe up our mess but drips also caught by the lovely gingham...

Hamburgers are all the rage at the moment and this place is sitting pretty with a tasty assortment on the menu. It is a Daviv Bowie themed restaurant, with all the menu items paying homage to the music great. You have your usual ingredients (lots of cheese options, bacon, pickles, more bacon, more cheese) but it also has unusual offerings like mac and cheese croquette and deep fried panko crumbed feta as ingredients. There are other non burger items like chips (which were crispy, salty and delicious) and chicken wings. Just a heads up, we are burger enthusiasts on a quest to find the best burger in Victoria. After driving 240km round trip, we finally made it to a small roadhouse with an incredible fish and chip shop burger. One of us is a huge David Bowie fan, and when the restaurant first opened, we wanted to visit but never got the chance. Despite feeling a bit hesitant after Bowie's passing, we decided to give it a try. The burgers were outstanding, ranking among the top three we've ever had. The meat, cheese, and bun ratio was perfect, with great texture and flavor. The Lady Stardust burger was incredibly delicious. My husband had the Wham Bam Thank You Ma'am, and the kids had the Young Dudes. The Mac'n'Cheese Croquettes were also excellent. If you're a fan of Bowie like we are, you'll love the music, but the ambiance could use some improvement. The staff should also work on engaging with customers more. Major Tom sponsors our local football team and we were given a voucher to go there. We were very suprised at how good the burgers were, although pricey. Chips were also great but also pricey. We ate in and the staff were friendly but it was like eating in a Fish and Chip shop- very cold in winter. Might feel a bit expensive for take away. However over all the burgers are really yummy

I came here a couple of times and thought it was great but i think the original owner has left or doesnt cook anymore and the lady that operates it now doesnt really care.. and its obvious. the burgers and the service are down down down :o(I thought it was just my burger but the family agreed.wont be going back.
