There was 12 of us that went in; kids and adults. The ambience was great and was empty but we had reserved our table as a little later, its got very busy. We settle down on to the long table for all our family and decided what to order. We had the sticky wings, Mak fries (specialty), Mexican hitman burgers, BBQ Everest burgers and a hot dog as well as the kids meals and chicken grilled. The Hitman burger was amazing, as were the other ones as I was told. The chips that came with the burgers were tasty to. Finally visited this place despite it being very local to me. I ordered the peri peri chciken with mash potatoes and it was good and at approximate £8.00, good value. It was a shame that they got my chicken mixed up with one of my friend's order. I had ordered medium spice and my friend had ordered the mild spice (lemon and herb). My other friend ordered the empire burger (beef pattie with chicken rashers) with fries. The portion of fries was generous and I had a bit of the empire burger and it tasted good. After receiving a message from Makgrillz on Instagram asking me to try their food, I decided to visit the restaurant. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the dry, tasteless, and cold food. I found it to be overpriced, especially since you have to purchase fries separately. I do not believe it is worth the money and I will not be recommending it to others. I have also noticed many positive reviews on Instagram, but I suspect they may be fake. It seems that Makgrillz contacts people with a large following and offers discounts in exchange for good reviews. However, this tactic did not work on me, as a discount means nothing if the food is subpar.
On the downside, the chips and condiments were lacking in quality. The sauces were generic and the chips were subpar, but this can easily be overlooked by ordering a side of Wedgies or upgrading your burger instead. Despite these shortcomings, this little restaurant is a standout among the average eateries on the street. The owner is friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. I had a truly amazing experience at this restaurant. The service was quick and efficient, and I was promptly seated as I had made a reservation. The mocktails were delicious and prepared quickly. Be careful, they are very addictive! The sides were also excellent, and my steak was cooked perfectly with a generous portion size. The decor was nice, and the restaurant was clean and sanitary. The prices were very reasonable given the current economic situation.
I have ordered food from this restaurant a couple of times and I'always loved it. Few days ago, I was passing by the restaurant and we decided to go there for dinner. The food was good as always, but I was very pleased to see that all staff members were wearing a mask and were asking customers to wear it as well while waiting for a table. The waitress was really nice and we had a lovely time there. I wish more restaurants valued customers' safety.
Came here with my family it was so poor. The waitress was extremely rude. When the food arrived it looked good until we tasted it. The burgers were over cooked and tasteless, the chicken wings were dry covered with sauce to camouflage the actual taste of the food. Avoid avoid it looks from the exterior that’s about it.
