The steamed rice, which is always a good indicator of a restaurant's quality, was disappointing and mushy—reminiscent of Denny's rather than authentic, high-quality sticky rice that they should be serving. After such a pretty long wait, we're so excited to finally eat Indonesian food at Makanmakan! The food was pretty good; the satay was great with peanut sauce, my American friend liked it a lot, the rendang was fine, but it was a bit salty and their sambal terasi was superb, but the drink (es campur) didn't taste as authentic as I thought it'd be. Not to mention, the staff were very friendly and communicative!! I dined in here with a group of 5 including a baby. The service was phenomenal! Our server Aubrey was very attentive and got all our order correctly! The food tasted really good. I got red curry w fish it’s breaded and fried to its perfection!! Their Chinese broccoli dish is really good too. We also got our desserts!! Everything was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious! The Laksa was incredibly flavorful and satisfying. We also tried the spring rolls and a glass noodle dish with chicken and shrimp (I can’t recall the name). Both were tasty! We were seated promptly since it was a weekday lunchtime. The staff was very efficient. Overall, I would rate the food a perfect 5/5!
