I must admit I'm no fan of this style of cooking, (I prefer Indian myself,) but the wife persuaded me to give this place a try after she had noted it while visiting her chiropractor next door. I will happily say this is probably one of the best takeaways I have had here in Canberra.The service was quick and efficient, and very friendly, we ordered online and the food was ready for collection exactly on time. They were rammed in the seating area, and if our meals are typical of the place, then this should be no surprise.My "Assam fish" was truly a great curry, and all the serves of the three dishes we ordered were generous and tasty.Very happy to go here again.
So disappointed The chicken satay (definitely no charcoal) just cooked chicken on a stick served with cold peanut sauce and roti canai ( must say this roti was delicious) but again served with a cold lentil dish. Such a shock with you first bite as you don't expect a cold sauceAdvice please tell your customers you serve this cold so you can prevent this horrible first "mouthful ". My husband went home hungry as he could not eat the "disgusting " rendang dish he was served My fish curry was very yummy and very tasty After I had paid my bill I gave the person feedback re the rendang dish He said the next rendang was going to be lovely and on the house
We had planned to return here long ago, but never made it. So when we wanted to dine out with friends of ours who live in North Canberra, we chose here. Only 1 person serving on a weeknight, but she was well in control of the floor, very friendly and efficient service. Quite an interesting menu, with plenty of choices. All our entrees were tasty, you could tell the ingredients were fresh. We shared our main meals, so chose a variety of dishes. All were delicious, full of flavour, decent sized serves and good value for money. We won't wait as long until we return next time.
This restaurant has an excellent lunch menu but I have found myself unable to go past the nasi lemak (pandanus rice) and the teh tarik (a strong, sweet tea). There's a choice of curries to go with your nasi lemak, which I see is illustrated in Malaysian Chapter's avatar on the page as I write. I have tried nasi lemak elsewhere in Canberra but this version is clearly tastier and prepared with more care. The service is always welcoming and I have found over time that I have become a friend of the owners, who now check on me whenever I visit.

I go very often to Malaysian Chapter with my Malaysian friend and he absolutely enjoys the food. They have a wide selection of dishes and have seperate menu for people with dietary requirements.We used to go to a Malaysian food chain type restaurant and since the time we had food here, we haven't looked back. Highly recommend their Pandan Sago with Gula Melaka and coffee.Food is absolutely delicious and not to spicy. Definitely have a go at it.
Maybe it was just a one-off, but our latest visit lacked a little something compared with previous very good experiences.Our food was nice enough. Not amazing but good. The downside was how long we waited to order and then the long wait until the meals were served. Will give it another go sometime on the basis of better experiences previously.
We had a great time at this place. Food was tasty. Host was friendly with our boisterous children. We chose a range a dishes: chicken satay skewers, roti, laksa, beef rendeng, chicken curry and prawn sambal. All so delicious! Meals average $20 each but serves are generous. A great night out.
This is one of the few restaurants in Canberra that I return to regularly. I have tried many of the dishes and nothing disappoints. I love that it caters to vegan and vegetarian diets and is reasonably priced and unpretentious.

Wonderful service, offered to go through their menu for us given it was our first time there. Food was delicious. Highlight was definitely the fried tofu entree. Great restaurant, will definitely be back!
