I used to love their food however lately , the rice has been under cooked and hard , and they serve the food extremely sloppy , it may be because the have a lot of clientele , but is disappointing , another thing i will point out there are about 4-5 girls they rotate the shift , and a lot f times their too busy talking among themselves or about them to even acknowledge the people waiting . They should also have a set price per plate , they charge you chicken separate from the beans and rice with you order a a large combo.
Yesterday, I was searching for a place to eat and based on reviews, my group decided to dine at Mama Elena. I ordered rice with huh, chicken stew, plantains, and some fried chicken strips. The portion size was generous and the price was under $10, which was quite affordable. The food was tasty, although the chicken stew was a bit salty. Mixing it with the rice helped balance out the flavor. Despite this, I would still come back to try other dishes. The restaurant was bustling with locals, which is always a good sign.
They are amazing food is so delicious and they give you so much food. There was also a mishap with my order and they sent me a cake for the inconvenience and called to apologized. The mishap was not to serious but I'm glad that they listen to there customers. My go to place. My husband is in love with there food as well. Definitely recommend 10 stars for them.
This place never gives me what I order it's like when your a kid and your mom says eat what I made or don't eat nothing literally my 3rd time ordering giving the benefit of the doubt and they send me a portion of What I ordered then they freestyle with it it's crazy i never paid somebody to tell me what I'm going to eat. I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The staff were all incredible and the food was delicious. It tasted authentic and was clearly well-made. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable. It felt like a home away from home.
have ordered twice by grubhub and my order deleted because they have not provided the items. why is it even in the app? terrible terrible experience and then they need to wait to get their money back smh
I have found the times I have visited this restaurant to be enjoyable. I love the food. If I did not live in New Jersey, I would definitely be a frequent customer.

Overall, the food is good except for the rice. The rice was hard, as if it had been sitting out all day. This has happened twice in a row now.
