With a little effort, this restaurant could have been a five-star dining experience. Despite the lack of indoor seating, there are four concrete tables outside. While there were no umbrellas as shown in their images, it seemed like they were making an effort to improve. However, the place was quite dirty, and ordering was confusing. There were no clear signs indicating where to order, and the staff didn't provide any guidance. We were left waiting until another customer who had been there before helped us figure out where to order. We went to Mama Toscano's in search of toasted ravioli, or as they call them, t ravs, which we found adorable. Located on the Hill, Mama Toscano's is a place where you can order and go, but there are a few tables outside if you want to enjoy your food there. The ordering process was a bit confusing, as you need to go to the deli counter at the back to place your order, even though there is a cash register at the front. However, the staff, including a father-daughter duo who were very sweet, were friendly and helpful in answering our questions and getting our food to us quickly. Found this via a Google search for toasted cheese raviolis in STL. We are road-tripping through Missouri so we HAD to get a local specialty. Definitely stop in here! The Hill is such a quaint area with so many options and there is nothing better than supporting a small business. The staff is so awesome!! We tried the eggplant parm sandwich and the ricotta/spinach ravioli. Absolutely yummy! No seating inside so hope for good weather and open spot outside. We went around 3 pm so it wasn't busy. During our first trip to St. Louis, we decided to sample some local cuisine and were recommended Mama Toscanos. We were not let down. We decided to try a variety of all three types of toasted ravioli, all of which were delicious, with the pizza flavor being our favorite. The restaurant is small with outdoor seating in the front. Despite being very busy during lunch, the staff were all very friendly and quick. We chose to take our food to the nearby park to enjoy a picnic.
Our first visit to St Louis wanted to taste a local taste. Mama Toscanos was recommended. We were not disappointed. We chose the variety of all three T-Ravs. All delicious, but pizza is our favorite. It's a small restaurant with a seat at the front. Everyone was super nice and even though they were muded for lunch they were very fast! We decided to take our food on the road to the park to enjoy a picnic.
Absolutely best ravioli I've ever had. The service was great, and the food was great. If only I didn't live so far I'd come here all the time. Although I do wish their location would've been more spacious. Overall loved it though.
