This will be my last Vietnamese blog post for the day haha. I have always heard good things about Mama Tran. They have 4 outlets and the one in the Perth CBD appears to be the original one and the most popular one. I have only been to the one in Joondalup on a couple of occasions and it has been decent. Unfortunately according to Zomato, the Joondalup store appears to be the least liked one. Surprise surprise the dish I have had on both occasions was the rice vermicelli with grilled pork and spring roll. When I first tried this place a couple of years ago it was really nice! the food was the worst in the whole of perth! the soups and the grilled pork were really bad! the vietnamese restaurants in Marangaroo are better, cheaper and tastier! the Mama Tran in Joondalup is really bad! the soup taste like wash water, the food are cold and the girl by the counter is stupid, she can’t get d orders right! Don’t waste ur $ folks! u’ll regret it! we actually felt sick afterwards as all we could taste from the dishes was MSG!
Used to love the chicken rice paper rolls from mama Tran. Bought some weeks ago and the rice paper was tough, roll filled with too much lettuce and barely any noodles. Dipping sauce was thick and gluggy. Thought they might have been having an off day so tried again today. Exactly the same experience. I think this franchise has new owners as the rice paper rolls are foul, nothing like they used to be.
Stopped by here in between shopping for a quick bite to eat. We both bought a banh mi which really hit the spot. The bread was fresh and had that ideal balance between softness and a crisp flaky outside. The fillings were nice and punchy, though I do wish that pate came with it automatically. A nice cheap lunch option for when you're up in the area though!

Mama Tran! One of my all time favourite places to eat. Such fresh and delicious authentic Vietnamese food, amazing service and staff and an all round pleasant experience. Prices are great, especially for the quality and amount of food served. I have tried quite a few things on the menu and have never been disappointed. <br/ <br/ Would highly recommend!
Wow! The food is always consistent and the flavours explode on your tongue. I’ll definitely be going back. Super tasty I had the grilled chicken noodle salad. It was fresh filling and full of flavour. I’ve also had the grilled chicken salad without the noodles and it’s equally exceptional. <br/
Yihuiiii...I found another nice Vietnam food. It is located in lakeside Joondalup shopping centre (2nd floor-food court area)<br/ a friend of mine told me this place.. never had a change to try it..<br/ <br/ love their clear broth (pho)..delicious..<br/ Their service is pretty good too..
For food-court food I thought it was made really nice. I've had, at restaurants, extremely oily and nothing but slices of fatty meat which I could not eat. Whereas, this one had no fat and I was able to finish it all. In fact, I wanted more! Very satisfying indeed.

Had a noodle salad last week and it’s addicted. Sound of fish sauce was scary but my mind can’t keep thinking about it. Amazing. Highly recommend <br/
Family of 5 visited for lunch and everyone enjoyed. Will not hesitate to come back. No issues with the food and very filling and good service.
