The Mar Azul restaurant is situated along the sea shore in the coastal village of El Golfo on the island of Lanzarote. El Golfo is an unspoilt village that hugs the shoreline. The village seems far from the many tourist resorts. The wild seas dominate the village. There are a few restaurants along the shore. We chose the Mar Azul and what a good choice it was. The location, the food and service was excellent. It was so nice that we returned a second time. El Golfo is well worth a visit. Great views, the starting point of the Rita del Litarol walk and dramatic seas. You can order a taxi from Playa Blanca or hire a car. Well worth a visit.
We had been recommended to come to El Golfo and to have a wander about. Many people seem to park up right at the entrance to the village but if you head all the way to the end along the seafront there’s a car park next to the kids playground. So we wandered by Mar Azul, Casa Luis checked the menu and sat down. Fantastic views of the sea and really friendly staff. We opted for the seafood paella for two and it was delicious. There’s plenty of choice on the menu and it’s all well priced. Plus, the view. We ate at lunch but I can imagine that sunset here is spectacular. Definitely worth a look!
My family booked tables to hold a family meeting. When you arrive, you must note that the area where the restaurant is located is very popular and is always full of tourists so parking near the establishment is impossible mission, it was all prepared. the area of the terrace was at a table away from where you can see how the waves break on the shore of the beach. We were treated fast. on the day of the reservation we requested that we prepare warm rice so that only the drinks and desserts had to be ordered when we arrived. the attention was great, fabulous food and the relaxing environment.
We had lunch here about five times during our fortnight in Playa Blanca and I'm pleased to say that Mar Azul was just as good as ever. It is in a delightful spot, the staff are friendly but most important of all the fish is superb. Not only is it fresh but it is also superbly cooked unlike many other places that either overcook or undercook the fish. We will be back again in November and are already looking forward to visiting this restaurant again. Highly recommended for all fish lovers
the place is certainly skin, casposo and gives bad impression. and I don't know how the kitchen is but I don't imagine any michelín star amago. apart from that, the grilled octopus is exceptional, very good! the drinks something expensive ... there they turn a little ... but yes, it would come back!
OMG! Fabulous meal watching the sun set . Incredibly tasty, honestly made and reasonably priced food fresh ingredients and fantastic flavour. easily our best meal of the week wish we had discovered this place sooner. Super friendly service made the experience complete. 10/10!
delicious supper with sunset. had baby tronna. fresh product. We asked for razors and zamburiñas and they were delicious and a very rich fish grill. to highlight the gofio mouse. How delightful!
What a lovely experience! Right On the seafront with glorious west wind and waves Over volcanic lava beach. The staff are friendly and the food is heavenly! We had a great lunch to remember !!
We had a fishplate and seafood paella. The kids had chicken nuggets. The food was extremely tasty,the staff genuinely friendly and the prices agreeable. Lovely Malvazia laFlorida 2022.
