A weekend away with my son, who is 12. We weekend away fairly frequently. As we arrived at the restaurant I was disappointed to have to ask if we seated ourselves, despite our reservation. I was advised to wait, which took 20mins, not a good start. Our waiter Dan was lovely, but obviously stretched. The food gorgeous, Dan was brilliant, although my observation was that he had too many tables to address. The food, wine and non alcoholic drinks choices were good. The restaurant is very very cold and you must keep your jumper or coat on. Took over 40 minutes before we had drinks. Seemed understaffed and we were in restaurant over an hour just to get a main and a dessert and two soft drinks. Menu was completely average and basic. My lamb was cold, cold potatoes, cold beans, and so much fat I couldn’t cut it with the steak knife or chew half of it. The brownie was like a microwaved piece of chocolate sponge, it was over done as well. This is my second and last meal here, completely underwhelming . View and setting; stunning. Food; delicious. All let down by the poor service. Waited well over 5 minutes at entrance, while the manager dealt with a telephone inquiry. And then a further 5-10 minutes for a table to be cleared. We were there for 90 minutes enjoying afternoon tea, during which time no staff checked on us. When we did manage to attract a female FOH staff member and asked for more tea, she cleared our plates etc, said “not a problem” and we never saw her again! Even the duty restaurant manager never asked us how our experience was as we left! Kitchen staff seem to have it nailed. But FOH staff definately needs some further training and reminding as to why they are there
We arrived on 30th December having been told there were no vacancies for dinner on NYE, but went up to the restaurant to double check... 'yes sure no problem, what time? '. 9 o 'clock please and do you take Blue Light Card even on NYE..? ' 'Absolutely '. Result.! NYE we arrived and were shown to the same table we had eaten at on Christmas Eve 2022...spooky. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was exquisite though I could have eaten a little more steak. Just a great restaurant and the Crown Plaza is good value in a fantastic location.

I can't under the mixed reviews on T.A. This place is superb! We took advantage of the 50% lunch menu and had an outstanding meal (fillet steak for £15!!!! . The staff were suitably attentive, the setting was stylish and the food was delicious. Fabulous cocktails and lovely extra touches to mark the birthday we were celebrating (glass of prosecco on the house, decorated table, dessert with a candle and staff singing, again on the house . Well done to the chefs and F.O.H staff!!!
.... the waiter called Mitch! He was an absolute superstar for quite a challenging table. But everything else was just poor or at best average! Truffle salad returned as there was no truffle at all... sauces with the steaks were split, and the crumble for dessert was barely cooked... Enjoyed the cocktails, but they did seem really weak. There's better in Plymouth, but at least the views are nice.
A massive thank you to Katie and the team for helping make my daughter's tenth birthday a memorable one. She loved the mocktail and table decorations Katie provided, none of which were prompted by me! Thanks again, we will be back.
This stunning penthouse steakhouse has unrivalled views and the food and service are fantastic without crazy prices , well done Shauna and Francesca both were exceptional at making a solo diner feel welcomed and well catered for

Good, attentive service. Tasty starters. Average mains. Cocktail very watery undrinkable. Nice dessert. Good wine. Good atmosphere, great views. Comfortable temperature until 9pm, when temperature dropped considerably.
Had a lovely afternoon meal and cocktails with my husband. The food and drinks are amazing. I like to mention Christian that made and served us was a very pleasant waiter.
