I would highly recommend and I will return! marie’s cafe is a casual and relaxed thai restaurant in the evening, served excellent eating that has good portions and is very favorable. it's just cash, but so make sure to pull money in front of the hand! it is also byob. I don't think we have accused corkage, but if we did, I wasn't on the bill. we had to start cracker and chickensatay. chicken pillow thai and chicken green thai curry for main and rice pudding for dessert. I think I order veggie the next time I'm not a big carnivore, but I went with one. it was all delicious! We are a little spoiled in Waterloo for Thai restaurants so we hadn’t yet made our way to Marie’s Cafe, despite all of the rave reviews!! As with most Thai’s in London this is very much a no frills, great value, good food kind of place!! Service is polite and not overbearing, portions are good and the flavours were right on point! Got to love Thai for being able to get a load of vegetables in and still taste so so good!! This place is well worth checking out if you are in the area and fancy something quick and easy before a show or before jumping on your train! Our fave things: Simple yet efficient offering and BYOB (always a winner!!
Came here on social media recommendations for my mums birthday. She loves Thai food. The starters aren't great.....we ordered 4 and they all arrived on the same plate, no idea of portion and mixed veg with meat. We have a vegetarian in the party so that wasn't great. The Thai salad was lovely, and the mains were fair to good. Other reviews of portion size Vs price are probably correct. The place only has one server together with the couple that own the place. It's very full but I wonder if it's really because of the bring your own alcohol as a pre-night out drink and food.
ready for an unexpected combination? this location is only conveniently located next to waterloo station. what happens when they mix two kitchens, including a favorite of this nation? English breakfast in the morning and thai for lunch and dinner, ready for owation? an excellent, chilled and laid place for every day, eating is served quickly and it is very easy to pay. teller are in size, so order starter and pornstar. you will say with a happy bauch with one, 'yey!'
A little while since I’ve been there, but the same if not better. We had various starters, main courses and desserts, all freshly prepared and quickly but most of all so delicious. The place was packed and easy to see why. The family really look after you with real attention to detail in the food and its presentation. A real winner.
Went there for lunch during weekdays. Family run restaurant, cash only. Great value, friendly service. The lunch set came with a main course and half serving (I guess) of a starter, and costs you £8 only. The main course is so good but the starter is very average. Otherwise, I will give 5 stars
Why do people keep raving about these average places I went last week and it's literally one of the worst Thai's I've had. Papaya salad was rubbish, Gra Prow wasn't even Gra Prow it was like some wet tastless sauce. Best thing was Satay chicken and even that wasn't that great
what a special small place. the service was excellent, especially the trainee, she is ready to be fully flew and has passed her training with full credit. the food was served quickly and it was full of taste. 5/5. I'm definitely back on my next trip.
Rude and racist… please do not go if you’re of ethnic descent(African, mixed, Caribbean)! Also the place is so small you couldn’t swing a cat… Owner was very disrespectful when spoken to
