The food here is fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious! I’ve been a loyal customer since they opened, and it’s by far the best place on Lake St, no contest! It’s perfect for a quick meal or a family dinner, and they’re always accommodating. The dishes come out incredibly fresh, and their recipes never get old. There’s a full bar with great drink options as well. They recently renovated the bathrooms and the back area, so everything looks clean and well-maintained. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you definitely should!

This place has the best authentic Mexican food! I’m so happy that they add an 18% gratuity tip to all bills! All waiters, waitresses, and cooks deserve equal base wage! I see so many people complain about this, but it’s simple if you can’t afford to eat out at a restaurant and tip your waiter/waitress, then go to a fast food restaurant! We are so happy that we can support small businesses!
Food was some how with good taste, place could used a little more of lights kinda dark hard to see the actual dish or what you eat, don't mind the 18% gratuity that gets automatically added to the bill, but I believe waitres should pay a little more attention to customers.

My favorite dish at El Amigo is the spicy shrimp. From the delicious homemade chips and salsa to the incredible rice and jalapeño sauce appetizer, which we often enjoy as a full meal, everything is fantastic!
The food is absolutely delicious, but this time our group of eight had to wait at least 30 minutes longer than another table that was seated after us before we received our meals.
Absolutely fantastic food! I'm new to the area and had a craving for seafood. I will definitely be back! Everything was delicious, from the drinks (micheladas...) to the entrees.

Fries were very crispy but asked for queso and got shredded cheese. Called and told them they said they would replace my order next time.
