If you're visiting East Los Angeles for the first time, you absolutely have to stop by Mariano's El Jato Jr. The food is so incredible that it might just inspire you to join the local gang known as “Fat Freakin Foos!” Just a couple of weeks ago, right at the beginning of summer, the entire neighborhood of East Los Angeles came alive. People poured out of their homes—houses, apartments, duplexes—to hit the streets and dance their way to Mariscos El Jato Jr! I watched as my Latino brothers and sisters called up their relatives, all excited to enjoy some delicious tacos while setting off fireworks. I can't express enough how much I love East Los Angeles!
A local joint for excellent seafood. Everything is so good. Flavor profiles hit just right! Salty. Sweet. Sour. Spicy. Great sized shrimp. Generous portions. Service during lunch time, on Monday, was good. The ambiance is cheerful. The restaurant is brightly painted, blaring Spanish music on the TV, and ecleticly decorated with huge chandeliers as well as religious relics from the owner's hometown of San Juan de Los Lagos, Jalisco. Parking sucks, but worth the headache.

This place is delicious!! Shrimp tacos, botana mixta, aguachiles, Huge fish taco (you only need 1) are our favorites. Good luck if you go during peak hours or weekends, expect to Wait! Parking is tough too. We prefer to order by phone pick-up. Week days are ok to eat in. They really need more parking but the food especially the fish tacos are absolutely amazing . The people are very nice the restaurant is very packed and small so I strongly advise a pick up order but it's definitely worth the moneyFood: 5/5
Hands down the best marisco spot in LA! We have tried different places to not drive here due to traffic, but get disappointed every time. At El Jato! You will not be! Best tacos, ceviche and fish tacos ever!!
