Just the delightful experience we’ve always come to expect from a Mark Strausman restaurant. We were greeted like royalty and treated the same way by all of the professional staff we encountered including a lovely table visit from Mr. Strausman. The sourdough and the onion breads were otherworldly. My guest and I split our salad and entrees due to dietary restrictions which were kindly accommodated. The arugula/goat cheese/beet salad fresh and sublime. The risotto with the most tender scallops and what I guess was a hint of Pernod finished with roasted garlic was a winner. For a walkway café right in front of Madison sq Park, the noise level was amazingly low! It was a little challenging to get a waiter to take our order, but understand, many restaurants are still short with employees. The food was eyes candy and delicious all around. The only shortfall was a salad on which the waiter does not know the ingredients; he went to find out for me. Unfortunately, the list of mixed vegetables was told me what was not delivered. It was mainly a large bowl. Best to stick with traditional chopped and other Freds salads. Or the less healthy options eggs on potatoes Latkes, Bagel/lox/Cream cheese and of course the Fritten! I'll try again!
I don't write a lot of reviews but when there is a restaurant, so outstanding, so consistent and so absolutely delicious as, Marks is, I'm compelled. EVERYTHING THEY MAKE IS INCREDIBLE! Happy that places like this still exist in the city. An absolute gem! Thank you guys
Walking in is like coming home. you are welcomed and checked in and served in a timely manner I love the food as it brings fantastic memories to mind. The home made bread reminds me of my grandmother. The drinks are designer all the way and very tasty.
Seated immediately even though full party wasn’t present. That was a treat. Service was stellar and friendly. Our waiter aimed to please. Love the menu, so diverse, something for everyone.
