Marks Spencer Cafe

I stopped in for a quick coffee while shopping. All of the staff were wearing masks, but none of them were wearing them correctly. One staff member had her mask flapping, with one side wrapped around her ear. Another staff member wore hers as a chin accessory, and another had hers under her nose. The only staff member wearing it correctly was a young man who took over later on. All of the other staff members were older ladies who should have known better. The scone I ordered was rock hard and crumbled when I tried to butter it. Track and trace not being checked by staff, sloppy service on the counter and most of the staff not wearing face coverings, sugar and condiments out for people to handle, only went in for a coffee was going to have something to eat but thought better of it. There was also a woman there with two children and they were running around between tables which was annoying but I felt the staff should have intervened given the covid situation staff should have been more responsible and should have asked the child's mother to get them to sit down instead a member of staff was chatting and seemed ok with the situation. Won't be going in again no matter who thirsty I am.

I meet friends in here regularly and have never met a grumpy member of staff or been concerned with the food. If raw food was being served they would be shut down by Health Safety, if people are concerned about not having a Barista style coffee then there is a Costa close by where they should go instead. They do accommodate for vegans and have a good selection of non dairy alternatives. Please be kind, we have all had a tough couple of years, the masks were always an option, people seem to forget, it was never a MUST in M S, thank goodness they used discretion and no Spikes were attributed to this cafe!

Have attended here several times living local nipped in for a quick lunch. Today I was very disappointed. I got shouted at for serving my own slice of cake as the signage was obstructed hadn’t seen it. My sandwich said piece of cake were not fresh at all. The sales assistant was rude unhelpful. Whilst wearing my mask sticking social distance was shocked to find a member of staff with her mask under her chin whilst flicking her hair playing with it behind the counter whilst chatting to other member of staff. We visited this cafe shortly after it reopened after lockdown. We had expected it to be spotlessly clean and following the Covid safety guidelines. Sadly this was not the case. We had to find the sanitizer and clean our own table and move someone else's dirty dishes. Not many people were in there and I'm not surprised. There were dirty dishes on other tables that were still there when we left an hour later. No details were taken for track and trace either. Apparently they are not legally obliged to do this but maybe ethically it might be a good idea.

This café has significantly declined in quality. It used to be a nice spot to grab a coffee while shopping, but I will no longer be going there. It's freezing inside and you wait forever to be served while the staff are disorganized. The coffee is inconsistent and the staff need training in both coffee making and customer service. Overall, it was not a good experience. It's a pity that there is no leadership or direction at this establishment. As someone who has worked in hospitality for many years, I find this level of service totally unacceptable.

Called in for a coffee . Asked for oat milk cappuccino. Carole making drinks tried to palm me off with a poor excuse for warm coffee no froth. I politely said I wanted cappuccino and she growled at me saying she wasn’t a barrister . Yes her words . She then went and got someone else to make the drink drink warm not even hot and told me the oat milk won’t go hot they need training . No apology from either just very rude staff m/s are employing . I would if given a minus star but no option to do so . Please sort your rude staff out .

Visited with wife and daughter, ordered 3 chicken burgers, after eating some noticed it was raw, on inspection all 3 were raw. Told staff, manager sat on next table, didn't even both to come over and asked for us to be refunded then took our receipt from the table. I asked if she would record it, she wrote my wifes name kn a tissue and said its on CCTV then carried on working on her laptop. Totally disgusting behaviour, never even went to the kitchen to speak with staff. Hopefully we will not be ill. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

I had coffee at this restaurant this morning. Everything was fine with the safety measures in place, such as track and trace and mask wearing. However, I was disappointed to see Lauren, who was making all the drinks, constantly flicking back her overgrown fringe behind her ear. This is not hygienic, especially in the food service industry, whether there is a pandemic or not. It would be better for her to wear a cap or clip her hair back - isn't that a basic rule?

Had to take my cups back 3 times because they were so dirty, the staff were really lovely apart from the one on the till.. she had no manners at all. We were given one napkin between three of us and the cutlery was so dirty .will not be returning
