Marmara - Tisch resevieren

We attended for a family event on a Sunday evening, we all had the "Special Banquet", we have had similar banquets in Istanbul, and the one we had at Marmara was as good as any we had in Istanbul, it is certainly authentic Turkish food, the only thing different is the salad, which is understandable due to the freshness required. ( there is certainly nothing wrong with Marmara's salad ).The dips and bread were excellent ( you can't beat warm Turkish bread ), the main courses included prawns and calamari ( I have had better calamari, but the flavour of both were excellent ). My friend and I visited one Saturday afternoon after shopping. We were warmly welcomed and treated like old friends... the friendly staff helped us select a meze of dishes to suit our dietary requirements (I'm vegan and my friend isn't) and were extremely accommodating to find us a good mix of dishes that show cased Turkish cuisine. The food arrived quickly courtesy of a lovely chef, and everything tasted great... the falafel were amazing, and the best I'd ever eaten (and as a vegan I eat them a lot lol!!) Having been battered by the noise at Hawker Hall, we were looking for somewhere quieter for a coffee and chanced on Marmara. It was lovely and quiet and peaceful. Busy, but not packed. Just had coffee which was excellent and also ordered turkish delight which was divine. Service was lovely. The menu looked interesting and we all said we'd be back another time.

Wow! Small and deceiving from the outside but beautiful inside. Bookings are a must as they are quite small.Nothing overly fancy but chic. We were in a group so we had a bit of everything and ordered a lot! So good! Lucky i don't live in Melbourne otherwise eating here would be a weekly occurrence! I'd def recommend this place!! Went here for a family dinner and was amazed by the quality of food. This restaurant is serving up some genuine, delicious Turkish food.Along with the super food is the lovely attentive staff members and a funky interior. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
