Visited during the afternoon for lunch and sampled several items from the menu along with coffee. Lovely location however the food left a great deal to be desired especially since it’s supposed to be a seafood specialist. The calamari was so thinly sliced once cooked it resembled rubber bands, the whitebait I suspect was from frozen not fresh and the arancini crab balls had so little crab meat in them they were bland. Not at all worth the £80 paid and absolutely not chef prepared.The great view was marred by an underlying smell of dampness inside and the toilets were nowhere close to the standards expected and had clearly not been checked properly by staff. The view is beautiful and the pub is nice very exspencive and the food was decent but again very expensive how ever the hotel just inst worth 150 pound bathroom stank of stale smoke there was no pillow cases and no fridge no complementary bottles of water there was a kettle and coffe but no spoons the continental breakfast was toast and cereal really not worth the price the only good thing was the gent who served us he was brilliant and did every thing he could to help
This is a fascinating location with a captivating history. You access it via a lift that takes you directly into the grotto. The grotto is carved into the cliff and features a bar, restaurant, and hotel. The staff are friendly, and the service is excellent. The food is not only delicious but also beautifully presented. This place is definitely worth a visit. Just a heads up, there is a parking fee at the cliff top next to the lift.
This is a beautiful restaurant with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. We took the stairs down and the lift back up. We only had drinks, but everything was enjoyable. The only downside is the pay-and-display parking. Aside from that, the beach was clean and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend this place.

A true hidden gem! The food was delightful and reasonably priced. The beach is fantastic for exploring, featuring small caves that the kids absolutely loved. My only complaint would be the elevator; it’s a bit small and quite slow. During busy times, it can take a while to get to your destination.
The Grotto is a lovely restaurant by the coast, accessed through a lift. The food was lovely, menu mostly seafood options. The outdoor seating is lovely and offers a way onto the beach so you can walk along it. Dog friendly there’s loads! Also can stay in their hotels on site.
Only attended the cafe/restaurant not the hotel. Only ordered side dishes and coffee as they had no affordable lunch options. Got a tub of takeaway ice cream to walk across very nice beach. Lots of birds around :
Great place to visit on the coast with the added opportunity to take in the views and atmosphere of the coastline.

Good beach and pleasant puv for a drink. Also a hotel. Pity the stairs now closed.
