Beautiful daily carvery, modern but cosy decor, great location right on the edge of the sand dunes, large outdoor areas with beautiful views of the beach/sea. Loved the added touches of board games to use at tables whilst having a drink or after dining and dog blankets to use so your furry friends can curl up on the seats beside you. Only reason I've rated 4 star and not 5 is the car park on the grounds of platform 33 isn't the cheapest and correct change needed for exact time periods or money is lost
I visited 19 Fairy-Tale on a beautiful sunny day for lunch, and it was quite busy. I ordered the carvery at the bar and was informed by the staff that there might be a wait. The chef was not only preparing the carvery but also cooking other dishes from the menu, all while managing everything on his own. The meal was fantastic, and despite the staff being overwhelmed, I would definitely return the next time I'm in the area.
The most beautiful homemade chips I've ever had—truly homemade! We enjoyed a hot beef stottie, which was delicious; the meat and gravy were fantastic, so I can only imagine how good the carvery must be. The outdoor location is stunning, with views of the dunes. I will definitely be coming back! x
Took shelter in here from the rain and ended up having a bite to eat. Roast beef sarny with chips and gravy was a belly buster. Good value. Very dog friendly with a 'doggy menu '. Free dog snacks on the bar. Definitely go again.

The staff at the restaurant were wonderful, especially with the dog. I tried the bark cake, which was delightful and had a magical touch to it, though I would have preferred something a bit spicier. Overall, it was very tasty!
Moved to South Shields recently and have eaten here on several occasions. The carvery is superb, the staff are really friendly and John the head chef is a star. Lovely pub with character and good food.
today after a long dog walk. great atmosphere, friendly staff. carvery was great! the daughter had a burger and the two boiled chips were amazing. really nice pub. will defo is back.
