Visiting from Victoria and went on recommendation of a friend. Most of the restaurants in Victoria have jacked their prices and lost much of their staff so have felt like I have had a lot of overpriced bad meals with poor service in the past...year and put up with it thanks to Covid. Went on a fully booked Sunday evening, waitress was a bit cold to start but warmed as the meal progressed but would class the service as good overall for the times. I had the Rack of Lamb and my partner had the Steak. Presentation was nothing fancy but both meals were excellent and cooked exactly as requested. Desserts and drink selections also excellent. Overall the best dining experience in a couple of years....
I'm not sure where the good ratings are coming from, but our experience, twice now completely justify giving no more than one star for this restaurant. They completely rush you out of there. You are still chewing your last bite of appetizer when themain arrives. They just want you in and out asap and it is felt. The fish was so over cooked and the amount of pepper used insome dishes are unreal. We will never return to this over priced restaurant. They need to learn that people go out to dinner torelax and enjoy, not be rushed out the door. If people want to eat and run, they will grab take-out somewhere. Show respectfor your customers.
Tried Martines for the first time ever for our anniversary tonight. Two words. AMAZING! DELICIOUS! We had the Manila Clams (feature menu of the day I think not sure, not pictured), to start. I had the NY Strip Loin, and my partner had the Seafood Linguine for mains and to end, the creme brûlée and apple berry crisp! So good!! And to top it off our server (didn’t catch his name) was very attentive even with the running around he was doing, very friendly and overall fantastic. Definitely will be back! xo
We had a fantastic dinner for my Mother-in-law's 90th birthday. Absolutely brilliant food and service thank you Nelly . The owner actually ran out and bought more lamb as we ordered 5 portions. thank you Marcus . The appetizers calamari , caesarsalad and escargots were perfect.I ordered the seafood linguine which was the best pasta I've ever had. Highly recommended. Mynew favourite restaurant. Service sucked. Calamari was super salty. No air conditioning. The lamb and the stuffed chicken was really tasty. Took a long time to get the bill but Brad was there to pick up the pieces as usual. He's great and will ask for him next time. Our serverwas nice enough just not efficient. Would recommend for the food., not the service.
One of the highlights on my recent trip to Comox! Friendly service with simple, elegant, and delicious food. I was highly impressed with how fresh all the ingredients tasted! Some of the best salmon and corn I've ever had (as a frequent traveler! .Reasonably priced as well. Must stop on your next visit to Comox.
Took my fiance out for a nice meal for the first time in a while since our baby was born. We love the atmosphere here, the people, the food, everything was amazing. Martines is our favorite place to go and will continue to go here every chance we get to go out. Thank you again guys date night was great.
We had an excellent dinner with our friends. On Sunday there is live music which made the dining delightful. The Red Snapper was delicious and all our meals were very well presented. The cook and staff are very skilled. Well managed establishment. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Had a wonderful dinner experience with pleasant waitress Deborah. Husband and myself enjoyed appetizers of Escargot and Tiger Prawns. Entrees were Seafood Linguine and Cajun Tuna...Excellent. Definitely a must if you've never been.
