I and 3 dinner companions went to this bistro after hearing good things about it. At first, we could see why it was well recommended. Our main courses were delicious, beautifully spiced and well presented. The service was good (not great).Then came dessert. Two of us ordered cheesecake, one a flourless chocolate cake (all quite delicious). The fourth ordered sorbet. About half way into his sorbet, he fell something hard and crunchy in his mouth which he thought might be a piece of ice or crystallized salt. He removed it from his mouth. This was not our first choice for eating, but ended up here when our first choice had a 2 hr wait. So this was our lucky night, no reservation and they took us right in and we sat on the patio. Beautiful night, with umbrella to shade us. Food was excellent, and we tried many deserts also. The owner did come over to greet us and check if everything was satisfactory. (that really makes you feel important) Wine selection was adequate also. Our waitress although busy serviced us nicely and made us feel welcome. We really enjoyed ourselves.
We visit the Comox Valley each year heading North to Cortes Island and this time we visited Martine's Bistro for the first time. We had heard good things and decided to try it out. We were very pleased with our choice as all of the meals and the service were outstanding. I had the rack of lamb and it was cooked perfectly, Sadly I don't eat dessert but they looked amazing, all in all a lovely evening out in the Comox Valley... We will be back on the trip back home.
We went to Martine's Bistro on the recommendation of the Owner (?) of 4 Quarters in Cumberland. What a good suggestion! The room is funky and the service is terrific. We were six and tried a good range of the dishes on offer and everyone loved their food. Good wine list at reasonable prices, delicious desserts, and really good value overall. Very good food. My salmon and my wife's chicken were cook very well.Server was very friendly and helpful.We even had a peekaboo view of the harbor. Would recommend you make a reservation they were smoking busy. We got in without one but we also went early
Not sure why we haven't been in a while, but promise to not let as much time go by before re-visiting this lovely spot! The food is deliciously prepared and the service was outstanding! My baked camembert was simply amazing!
Visiting Comox for the first time, this restaurant was recommended. I had the special pork dish which was delicious. I accompanied it with a glass of sangria which was also wonderful. Good service and prices.
