Maru Coffee demonstrates that light roast beans have diversity of flavors and can be robust without over roasting. The Mexican blend is the transcendence of robust chocolate flavors displacing the need for dark roasts. I love matcha, and Maru does this equally as well as they do coffee. The service was fast, and friendly. Baristas are knowledgeable. Design is simple, and several locals come here to hang for a bit. You won't find many laptops open. Fiddling with the coffee canteen to the right, the design seems smart. This restaurant serves outstanding specialty coffee, has speedy Wi-Fi, and an abundance of power outlets. The interior is elegantly designed with a minimalist approach. It creates a lively atmosphere with a diverse crowd, perfectly balancing those who like to stay a while with those who are concentrated on their work. The music plays at a comfortable level, making it an enjoyable spot to unwind or get things done. If you're open to a short walk, there’s plenty of street parking available nearby.
I've been to Maru several times, and it has consistently been excellent! I always start with a Bon Bon and then enjoy a Cream Top. Both drinks are a real treat for coffee enthusiasts. The Bon Bon, made with an espresso shot, is quite unique and absolutely worth trying if you love espresso. During each visit, I find the baristas and other customers to be friendly and welcoming. I truly wish I lived closer!
I truly enjoy their coffee and the ambiance of the place. The barista was friendly; however, one woman shot me a long stare when I asked for a glass of water in a glass instead of a plastic cup. I had a wonderful time at this restaurant! The atmosphere was delightful, and the staff was exceptionally friendly. My spiced cold brew was absolutely delicious! I was looking for a convenient place to meet a friend from La Miranda, and I've definitely found the perfect spot. Food: 5/5
Wonderful, coffee and great pastries as well. I made a special trip to this place and was very happy with everything they had to offer. I ended up getting a pour over as well as a croissant. I will happily visit this place again next time I’m in the arts district of downtown LA.
This place takes you somewhere, the minimalism is so good for my mental health. All the hipsters and artsy people go here, reminds me of Seattle. The cups for here drinks are so… AMAZING! This is a hidden gem and right in arts district. yaaas.

Initially hesitant, I was pleasantly surprised by their coffee. They truly know how to craft a proper cappuccino at the perfect temperature.
