My friend, Laura, hosted my birthday dinner at this new restaurant last week and we had a great time. – Thank you, Tom Sietsema! The pani poori was good — although I preferred it without the cumin water. Watch out – these one-bite appetizers are rather large! The tandoori chicken was excellent, as was the nan flecked with rock salt and cilantro. By the way, the outstanding raita comes in very handy! The parking situation is not great, but the restaurant is very homey and inviting, the prices are outstanding (two people dined for less than $40), and the staff are exceedingly attentive, knowledgable and helpful. We were celebrating our anniversary. We choose Masala Art because the service is great and the food is outstanding. There are some new items on their menu that we decided to try. They were very tasty and buttery which is what I love about Indian Food. I always love their vegetarian options and their menu also makes note of which items are vegetarian/vegan, that is always helpful when it comes to appetizers. We highly recommend this restaurant and it is our go to for fantastic Indian food.
We were out for an anniversary dinner and this is our go to for Indian food in our neighborhood. The food was very good as we have come to expect. Very consistent. There was a large group taking up all the tables combined across from us. Turns out that we had the same waiter and the staff was overstretched… and the noise level was higher than usual too.
There were 9 of us sharing all sorts of wonderful dishes from vegetation to lamb and butter chicken. The aromatic flavors stayed with you for hours after the sumptuous feast. The people running the restaurant helped with selection and were very gracious. Highly recommend!

Masala Art is a neighborhood gem in Tenleytown and always provides a pleasant and reasonably priced experience. The bang-bang chicken and shrimp special were excellent.

Outstanding cuisine! Really enjoyed some of their new dishes, like the goat curry.
