we were passing by after we were in the valley calanca and we stopped at the grotto Matafontana.. . The evening lent itself well, too hot or too cold, we put ourselves under artificial curtains in a small table for two people. We chose as a starter a piece of alpe formagella (very Good). As first a steck with porcini mushrooms (the meat in my opinion was not the maximum, instead the mushrooms and the sauce I liked very much) and a trout in carpione (which was good!!! What to say. the place has a large parking lot and many tables to sit outside,personal courteous account 68 franchi.
Nie wieder!!! Absolut überteuert für maximal durchschnittliches Essen. Der Veggiburger ist ein dünner trockener Gemüseburger ohne Brot ohne Saucen oder sonstwas für 16.-. Die Bedienung fragte Kartoffeln oder Salat dazu (in der Annahme das dies dazugehört), war aber nicht so und kostete nochmals 10.-. Für ein 3 jähriges Kind gab es ein kleines dünnes Plätzchen (man konnte fast durchsehen, so dünn war es) und ein paar wenige ausgetrocknete Bratkartoffeln für 17.-!!. Mein Polenta war ok. Es gibt aber in der Nähe einige bessere Grottis mit Polenta. Nie wieder!!!

I took the "menù festival of the Moesano" which in practice is a main dish (entrecote d'asino. even if I would have said horse,) with 3 slices of inlet salami, a dessertino, liquor glass and gift. However ok.Painting of ribs (4) with contour 23.- grotto environment with large exterior and beautiful room. a place that deserves to visit if passing or not more than 25 minutes away. ah, something I like is the large parking lot.
I can only start with a good one.... at the service but especially at the kitchen. Excellent ham and dry meat, cooked pork risotto with a sauce that reminds me of the old flavors. A classic lemon sorbet. This for a group of 80 people, beautiful and pleasant the company. It was a few years that I did not attend this grotto, I was favourably surprised, and only to recommend. Nicht der Anfang Grotto, viel schöner mit einer riesigen Auswahl an Getränken. Der Käseteller war sehr gut und auch alle anderen Gerichte, die wir hatten. Der Service super freundlich und der Matapone, spitze. Auf jeden Fall ist die Atmosphäre unter den alten Bäumen wunderschön...Nicht das letzte Mal, sicherlich.
Wir kamen am hektischen Sonntag zum Mittagessen, wurden jedoch trotzdem schnell von freundlichem und effizientem Personal bedient. Die Portionen waren reichlich und soweit wir sehen konnten, war alles lokal und 'kilometro zero', einschließlich des Weins. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Vielen Dank.
Not the standart Grotto, much nicer with a massive choice of drinks.... The cheese plate has been very good As well as all the other dishes we had. Service super friendly and the Matapone, rocks..... Anyway also the atmosphere is nice under the old trees..... Not the last time, for sure

Toller Ort, nicht ihre typische Grotte, aber sie haben immer noch ein wunderbares Grotte-Ambiente. Das Essen ist sehr gut und der Service hervorragend.
