Good beer selection and nice bar/location. The food however was not so good...at all. Odd combos, over dressed salads and the fish from my tacos tasted boiled. It is a cool spot but just for a beer cause the food was not good. Maybe we ordered the wrong things...maybe should have gone with pork but all the food seemed like odd versions of New Mexican food. Seems like the creator of the menu was off on the food and what I as a New Mexican love about our food.
Had a really bad experience. They didn't have anything on the menu. Had to order 4 times before they had the item in stock. The dessert that we went there for was so salty and nasty we could only take one bite and could not eat it. The food we did end up with had no flavor and felt like we were slopped.. Would not go back. The only good part was the waitress who was really embarrassed by the management of the restaurant and we very nice to us.
We always get amazing and above ordinary service here. The ambience is wonderful for any occasion. Parking is hard, but worth the walk. The food seems like it isn’t as good as before, but still better than most. Love the unique menu items and names. Still one of my favorite Nob Hill restaurants.
I think this is the best place for dinner, happy hour, a nice get together with friends. The food is reasonably priced and DELICIOUS, especially the desserts. My friend ordered the house margarita and I almost (almost) parted with my own brew for his! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We went for a pre theatre dinner which was a mistake. After an hour an a half the dinner still hadn’t been served. We left without dinner. The beer was flat . The place is so noisy it’s hard to hear the person across the table.
Have been to Matanza more than a few times, and I think they have one of the best happy hours in town. A great selection of tapas-style tacos and great, local, and value-priced beer.
We had a wonderful time at Matanza! The food and service were amazing. We definitely plan on returning.
