We live in Eye so visit Mattoni pretty regularly, and recently we held a surprise 60th birthday here for 20+ people and they handled it so well from booking to the end. Booked and was advised a £5 per head deposit and they needed a pre-order which we sorted for them and that they got spot on despite a number of changes (and no pre-order for the one being surprised! Service was excellent despite us not being the only large group in the restaurant and it being almost 100% full. Amazing food and lovely staff!! My partner and I visited as a pay day treat with our toddler. We’d never been before but had heard very good things from others. Well our expectations were absolutely blown out of the water!! The food was presented beautifully and tasted just as good! Portion sizes were huge so we took our pizzas home ready for dinner the next night. The food was too good to waste! Booked for 7:30 not seated til 7:50 First was told setting table then was told a little later waiting for people to leave. Massive wait for food when we asked how long was told you can see we are busy. Manager was rude and was waving his arms in one of our faces when we asked to see him about the rude staff. He also told us we should have pre-ordered but when booked online and then called to add people no mention of pre booking was made. Food was brilliant. Service was extremely lacking. had a nice evening in mattonis. eating was excellent,Gluten free for 2 of 3 diner provided without having to mention additional costs in booking. they had an early bird special week, most pasta and pizzas £9.95 btwn 5-7pm must pay b4 7pm a bit slow for the main course, as only opened by 17 clock, we booked for this time. the personal is charming, friendly and for very relaxed atmosphere. my only negative point is, please make sure they pay their print bill b4. we had problems with the optional service fee of 10% of the total bill. they must decide whether they do not want to pay for this, it is automatically added to their bill.

this was a new place for me funny art of place, it had a little of everything it was an Italian restaurant in an old pub, but also for this weekend it was also a takeaway service for scenes or trifles etc. the starters were served very fast and tasty nice bruchetta, garlic mushrooms, mozarella brot. net still took a little longer to use but they were still brilliant. everything in all would think again, it could be different from another weekend (jubileee weekend).
We held a Charity Pasta Pizza Supper here last week for charity and it was great. The staff are ultra organised and very efficient. The food and service was very good and there was a great atmosphere in the room. We had a singer (Simon Lee) who entertained us during the evening which attributed to the jolly atmosphere. Vic and his team do an amazing job here at Mattoni Eye and I highly recommend this restaurant for a private event as well as dining out there.
Went for a birthday meal. Food was pre ordered and came out promptly. The pizza was delicious and generously topped! Staff were really attentive and friendly. It has a nice outside area too.
Nice place, very friendly staff. Been there for our anniversary. They made a surprise for us- wrote congratulations on the table, give us champagne for free. Nice atmosphere there. Food 4+
