I was in town for a weekend and I ate lunch here twice because I liked it so much. The location is up a flight of stairs but you can take an elevator. It is right in the center of the hustle of Pike Place and since the restaurant is elevated from the ground floor you can have a nice view of the water if you are seated near the window. The restaurant has an open kitchen and many tables will allow you to watch food being prepared which is interesting. However both times I dined there I thought the grill got a bit smoky and it was a bit hard to breathe inside and I needed to cough from the smokiness so not amazing. The food was good. Enjoyed a fabulous dinner with friends last weekend. The drinks, food, and service were wonderful. The atmosphere was a bit lacking I'm not sure if I'm imagining things, but I swear they've turned up the brightness on the lights and added more tables since last time I went to Matt's. The atmosphere felt cheaper than the wonderful meal tasted.
Had a great lunch with terrific fries! The fish burger was very good, but the chicken tenders were practically BUTTER!! I have never had better tenders. Nice hole-in-the-wall. No frills, quiet little spot. Mid-range price for the area, great for a couple of people, a bit pricy for a family.
A very delicious lunch experience overlooking the entrance of Pike place market. The food was fresh and delectable and it's always busy because it's a very popular place and you need reservations but you will not be disappointed.

Service, food, hosts, bartenders, and wait staff are all outstanding. Phenomenal for a lunch hideaway, or a business meeting, and dinner is top flight.

A little loud as the place was packed but great service, tempting menu and their chicken sandwich was best I've ever had!
It’s just the best to feel at home with the best Stew around, and of course EVERYTHING there is wonderful!
