We came for dinner after watching Anne of Green Gables. We were a party of 7 and some errors occurred which made the experience underwhelming.My family ordered some apps so I had to wait for dinner until those were done.I ordered the veg burger with no bun or cheese and my mom ordered it with everything. They brought the other entrees first but when mine came out it had cheese so it had to be redone (making me....the one without apps, more hungry).One son ordered a chicken dish but canceled it to share a variety of apps with my husband. I was in tonight with my friend for late supper, started off well the server she was nice and I had picked a delicious bottle of wine to start off with apps.Carlos the manager had come to ID us after the server had taken our order, and asked us if we had been drinking prior to, he checked on us few too many times for our comfort. We had dinner here before our 7:30pm showing of the Anne of Green Gables musical. We enjoyed our salmon with local potatoes and seasonal vegetables. It was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The pot de creme for dessert with potato chips was fun and delicious. We liked the pretzel-style bread that came out first, but the "molasses" butter was flavorless, unfortunately. Wines were great and so was the service. It was so nice to be inside the theater center for dinner so there was no travel time before the show.
Have had drinks here twice in last ten days of holiday with attentive service. Had dinner tonight with less than sparkling service, both starters and mains arrived without cutlery, waited ages for server to check on us for drinks and some of the food disappointingly poor, my lobster croissant not a patch on lobster roll at the Chowder House, sons hamburgervlooked dried up, suspect this place trades on theatre goers, suggest you eat some place else. Stopped in with a party of 6 for dinner. We ordered crab cakes and lobster dip to start, both of which were really tasty. The lobster croissant was very good, which came with sweet potato fries and a good sauce to dip them in. My wife ordered the Halibut, which at $32, was a bit on the skimpy side and a bit over done. The sangria (red and white) was really good and our server was very friendly. Overall, we had a great time and would come back for a special occasion!
Stopped for dinner and my wife had the mixed grill which included shrimp, chicken and steak. It was exceptionally good. I had the halibut which was also excellent. The wine list is good and there are new lower prices making it attractive (150% mark up where most places are 200 to 250%). The service is friendly and attentive. Nice atmosphere and beautiful outdoor patio. Overall a great experience.
We made reservations at Mavor's because is very convenient to the the theatre where the Anne of Green Gables musical was presented. It was a good choice and we enjoyed our meal. I had mussels as an appetizer and they were fresh and well-prepared. Both my wife and enjoyed a brisket special with cooked vegetables that were quite good; it was a lot of food. Desserts were good.
Reallly enjoyed our specials lunch of lobster mac and cheese. It was full of good size pieces of lobster, and the dish was hot and fresh. It came with either a salad or chips. We had lunch here twice! Excellent location with nice sucked courtyard for when it is sunny outside. Food is very good with great salad. ( try the blueberry salad!) good friendly service!
