My mother and I went to Max's for dinner on a Tuesday night. It was quite busy so we ended up sitting outside, which was nice considering the weather in San Francisco. The chairs at the outdoor tables were not very comfortable. The service was good, but we were disappointed by the limited selection of Californian wines on the menu. The food was decent, but not outstanding. We ordered crabcakes, pork sliders, and onion rings, all of which were okay but nothing special. Considering the price, I don't think we would come back, especially since this was a meal during our trip. The restaurant was within walking distance from our hotel, but in the future, I would be willing to travel a bit farther...

I do note that the restaurant is walking distance from our hotel which was how we ended up there,but in the future I would go a bit farther for something better.

The interior could use some upgrades, with plexiglass dividers between booths that were dirty with fingerprints and food residue. The server was friendly and attentive. The food arrived in a timely manner. The pear and walnut salad was generous in portion and the dressing was delicious. Max's doesn't open until 11AM, so there are limited breakfast options.

This place is amazing. Great food and ambiance and our waitress, Nicole was the best. This place has history as it has been operating since 1978. Very convenient location as it was just steps away from our hotel, Holiday Inn Express. I absolutelyrecommend this place to dine in,dine out, or just have a drink and a friendly smile
When wanting the best comfort food Max's is where to go. My particular favorite is Grandma’s Honey Roasted Chicken with mixed vegetables (Roasted Brussel sprouts and onions) and potatoes. Get a little bit of everything on one bite dipped in that savoryjuice and you're brain is sprinkled in that home love taste!!

The food taste is good, although pricy. The steak is so good with good size, tender and juicy. Other food we ordered is pasta which is good as well. There is a special menu every Thursday. Have a spacious parking lot

I absolutely adore this restaurant! We had a group booking for 10 people and Freddie was a fantastic host. The appetizers were scrumptious and the mud cake was definitely our favorite dessert. Highly recommend!
