I recently visited an Armenian restaurant for the first time and my expectations were extremely high! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the restaurant's history and Armenian culture. I had never tried mante before, but the combination of Armenian dumplings with yogurt, mint, and sumac was amazing. It tasted like kabob dumplings in a creamy Mediterranean yogurt sauce. We also tried the Karnoug, which consisted of perfectly cooked lamb chops marinated in charmoula, served with labneh and shishito peppers. Accidents happen right? Every now and then, despite a delicious meal, something happens over the course of the evening and that makes or breaks the experience. The evening we dined at Mayrik their payment system was playing up and we were charged for another table's meal. The restaurant staff handled it with grace and rectified it immediately. Not only did we enjoy a delicious meal which came in good time, as well as genuine and warm hospitality, our server made sure the issue at the end of the evening was resolved promptly, and she gave us a sincere apology for the mix up. Some businesses just know how to handle bumps in the road professionally and Mayrik is one of them.
I gave one star, just because there is no option to give 0 stars!This was one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to in Toronto.They aced every feature that a horrible restaurant might have. The atmosphere is depressing The staff are rude service is super slow, we were the only customers today, and had to wait 40 minutes for our food. The portions are ridiculously small, maybe like an appetizer in a normal restaurant (see photo) The beef plate had 4 small pieces of meat, and was 23$. The stake plate, which was supposed to be 6 oz, was barely 3 oz.Too late for us, save yourselves.
The food at this restaurant was mediocre, with a homely feel. The flavors of all the dishes were very similar. The kebab main dish lacked sauce and was quite dry. The dumplings were tasty, but the presentation was lacking. I might consider ordering takeout next time as the music and guests were too loud for my liking. At one point, there were only 5 occupied tables, and two of them had people on video calls, making the atmosphere less enjoyable. The server was friendly, but the service was a bit slow.
Absolutely two thumbs up recommended place to go for an amazing Armenian food. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with traditional Armenian pieces yet the place looks modern. The food knocks you down from the first bite, delicious and sometimes never tried anywhere. Again, highly recommending for ethnic Armenian food and a nice choice of cocktails, wines, and beer. Elegant place, reminded me some restaurants in New York.
The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, excellent customer service, and delicious food. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a fantastic dining experience. The server attended to us promptly and made sure to check in on our satisfaction with the food. It is clear that they genuinely care about their customers' dining experience. We will definitely be returning!
Amazing atmosphere and staff… they make sure you have everything you need from the moment you walk in. The owner is welcoming and staff patiently told us about the popular dishes. The food quality is amazing… this was my second time at the restaurant and i will definitely coming back with my friends! Thank you ??
The branzino was perfect- moist and full of flavour. Accompanied by a generous amount of capers and cherry tomatoes. The potatoes are served with an addictive garnish. We had a dry red Armenian wine that proved to be excellent value. Finished with tasty, but not too sweet, baklava.
Appreciated the warm ambiance and amiable staff at the Mediterranean restaurant. However, the brunch menu mainly features egg-based dishes, offering fewer sweet options for those with a preference for them.
