We had an amazing experience with the fresh hummus, dolmades, and pistachio baklava—everything was fantastic, and the olive bar was top-notch. Fresh food gets a solid 5/5. However, I found that the dried fava beans and brown lentils I bought took an unusually long time to cook, suggesting they may have been on the shelf for quite some time. The absence of price tags on many items was also frustrating. For dried foods, I would rate them 2.5/5. If we decide to return, we'll focus on the freshly prepared options, even though they are a bit pricey. The overall price rating is 3.5/5.
During a sailing trip around Vancouver Island with my kids, we made a stop in Nanaimo and decided to try this restaurant since it was conveniently located near our marina. What an incredible experience we had! The food was delicious, and the owner was exceptionally kind, even treating my kids to fresh spanakopita and making us feel like part of the family. My daughter declared him the "nicest man she's ever met." It was a truly memorable experience that shouldn't be missed. There are wonderful people out there!
This is a fantastic place for high-quality Mediterranean groceries, snacks, teas, and homemade deli items like salads and desserts! The owner is friendly and welcoming; he even offered me a taste of one of the deli dishes without me even asking. The atmosphere is lovely, and the prices for juices, snacks, and other grocery items are quite reasonable!
Went there for the first time today, very impressed at the large selection of items! So many things I haven't seen before in Nanaimo, I'm excited to go back in the future and explore even more.I found some wonderful tinned seafood and also tried a butter chicken wrap which is very tasty. I experienced exceptional and friendly service at this restaurant. They offer a wide range of Mediterranean products that are hard to find anywhere else—especially their olives! The homemade baklava, spanakopita, tzatziki, and hummus are all outstanding. I highly recommend this place!
My husband and daughter were beyond ecstatic to find this little gem. My husband is Lebanese and was able to get all his favorites with the kindest and most amazing service. 7 spices, shawarma spices, olives, lebne, cheeses and dates to name a few. We will be regulars here for sure!!
I have really missed this wonderful store. I used to shop in the Victoria location. So happy to find it in Nanaimo. Matteo made a custom spice blend for our daughters wedding feast. Guests still haven't stopped raving about it.
