We have been to McCuloch Station many times over the past 28 years but not recently until a couple of weeks ago. The food was always great and lot of it. Neighbours invited us to join them at McCuloch last week and I must say, it was definitely not the McCuloch Station I remember. The burger was small and the side of fries you could almost count on one hand. Come on guys, I can somewhat understand chincing on the burger given the price of beef but potatoes are cheap! For what we got I consider it expensive and the service was pretty crappy as well. Unfortunately this will be our last!
We talked about meeting here for a couple of years and finally decided to go there. When we arrived there were tables inside [Thursday evening] with a large number of people outside.Our order was promptly taken by a wonderful server, Sam, and she kept track of all our wishes for each plate ordered. She checked regularly on our table to ensure we had all we needed.The food was good and what one would expect in a pub type atmosphere. We certainly did not leave hungry. Two had meals and two shared a couple of appies. All meals were good.It was a nice evening out and we'd go back there.
McCulloch 's is a true Canadian version of an English country pub. The beer is great especially the well poured Guinness the food, though not outstandingly ambitious is simply the best pub food you 'll ever get and the atmosphere is the friendly 'local '. AND the all round windows make the whole place light and airy AND there 's a lovely patio/beer garden with really nice views of the Orchard Golf course and the mountains up to Gallaghers.
After work appies and a drink.Service was excellent, very friendly and quick.Food came quickly.Caesar salad was great. Large enough to split.Dry ribs also excellent with a great sweet chilli sauce for dip.Drinks and food for happy hour are all reasonably priced.Very busy.Has a nice little patio.Ample parking.Parking: Has a fair amount of parking but if full has free parking nearby. Very decent pub fare. Waitresses are super cool, food is actually pretty delicious, there is a sunny patio and great views of the local mountains.
Was at this pub a few weeks ago and forgot to leave my review! It was a Friday night and we were there to meet friends.
