After completing our 200-mile Cabot Trail ebike trip, we gathered at this restaurant where we had spent our first night and parked our cars. Although there was no buffet available, we were able to order from a full menu. We all enjoyed traditional breakfast items such as omelets, potatoes, bacon, sausage, and coffee, all of which were prepared perfectly. I'm usually not a fan of breakfast, but this meal exceeded my expectations. The restaurant had an interesting aviation-themed decor, highlighting the significance of the Silver Dart as Canada's first airplane and Baddeck as Canada's Kitty Hawk.
Our group enjoyed our reasonably priced meals at this restaurant with a beautiful water view. Highland Toss, which was with a what they called Thai sauce, was a delicious stir fry with rice. Other meals our group enjoyed were the Seafood Fettuccine and the burgers. They didn’t have beer on tap, but had a nice selection of Nova Scotia beers in cans. Waiter PJ was great and the food came quickly. I would recommend this restaurant.
We generally liked the Silver Dart for the quiet and reasonably priced accomodations, but the breakfast was sub-standard. No a la carte was available. The buffet was $20 and for that one expects more than powdered scrambled eggs and stale fried potatoes. No choice of meats (only bacon). Only plain white or brown bread and some muffins, no pastry. Coffee was watery. Only apple juice. No cheeses, no butter, only margarine.
Selected this accommodation based on dining-room recommendation and website info. Purposely made a dining room reservation several weeks before arrival. When we checked in only by chance did we find out that they were only offering a buffet to all guests for dinner and breakfast at this time as they had a bus tour in. We stayed at the Silver Dart Lodge for the night and were planning to dine at a popular seafood restaurant nearby for dinner. However, the wait time was too long (45-60 minutes to be seated), so we decided to eat at this restaurant instead. While the food options and quality were average, the exceptional and friendly service from our server, Bev, made the dining experience truly memorable.
Were staying at the Silver Dart and decided to have dinner there... bus tour was in the restaurant having a buffet style seafood dinner... service was warm and friendly... mussels were the feature seafood and unfortunately over cooked... chicken and seafood dishes were very ordinary....food may have been simply kept warm much too long... servers were very friendly..great view
We ate there while staying at the lodge. We made a reservation when we arrived so we were close to a window but not at a window. The view on the lake was still beautiful. We ate beet salad, fish cakes, pork wrapped in bacon, maple bread pudding. we drank a local red wine. All the food was good and the waiter was pleasant.
Classic breakfast for a good price. My family was pleased about the portion sizes and every component of our breakfasts was properly executed. Staff was friendly. There was a mix up on my order, but they fixed it right away and gave us a discount on our meal. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The dining room at McCurdy's, situated at the Silver Dart Lodge, is extremely convenient for guests staying at the hotel. I had a delightful dinner that was absolutely delicious.
