Best experience of my entire life! I went to congratulate my husband for getting his CDL License, AND I went a second time on May 5th for my birthday. I have no words to describe how pleased I am with everything from reservation to arrival, the greetings we received (first and second time BOTH , they remembered us! JUST WOW!!!!! I am a huge foodie, I go nearly everywhere to eat, from cheap to pricey. This is the best restaurant experience of my life! First, we didn?t order appetizers because it was late and we wanted to get to the good stuff (well, everything is the good stuff here we ordered steak ???? and both were delicious, the meat itself melts in your mouth, none of that elastic stuff...
Since the inception of this steakhouse, we finally got the chance to take advantage of this tremendous dining experience. Making reservations online was simple, and we were immediately greeted by the owner walking through the door. We arrived early to check out the bar ambiance and get a feel of the place with some pre-dinner cocktails, only to be greeted by friendly and skilled mixologists while listening to a talented saxophonist playing in the corner. We went with the owner's suggestion of the Tomahawk steak for 2 (and suggested red wine), brie drizzled cauliflower, creamed corn, and sweet potato pie (pictured below)...WOW!!! This is our second time visiting Volino's Meat Market. To say it was not as good as the first-time visit, is an understatement. Our first visit the steak was aged and well-seasoned which is the reason we returned for a second time, the service was amazing, and the restaurant was fully staffed. In this second visit although the waiter was very pleasant, the restaurant was understaffed. He did suggest very delicious appetizers. We had the Octopus which was outstanding and the chicharones were very good. On this second visit they set up an outside tent with great oldies music which set for a very romantic mood. Unfortunately, for the price they charge for the steak, I expect the steak to be age...
Went last week for Sunday brunch to celebrate my birthday with friends. What an experience?they have a separate brunch menu that was simply outstanding. Besides the food being a 10, the DJ, dancing and atmosphere was as well. Mark, the manager of the restaurant, makes everyone feel like royalty (super special). He?s just top-notch. The whole vibe makes you feel like you just dined with your family?thanks to the welcoming nature of the Volino Family. I enjoyed it so much that I came back a few days later to try the dinner menu?which was equally as outstanding as brunch (including the service). Doesn?t look like much from the outside.. but they say, never judge a book by its cover. The inside is very modern rustic. Very inviting and cozy. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was outstanding. Appetizers were: Grilled octopus over polenta which was spectacular. Double cut Canadian bacon which was delicious. Chicharron and Yuca was awesome. We ordered (2) Porterhouse?s for 2 (4 of us). Both cooked perfectly and flavorful. Steak fries and creamed spinach were good. Dessert was delicious also! Lots of Martini?s? Very welcoming restaurant and again can not stress how wonderful the staff was.
The place was incredible. But after drinks the so called specials tasted nothing but reheated leftovers. Might try it again and stick to the regular menu but maybe not. I ordered medium rare ended up with well done with lobster ravioli that I've had better at Olive Garden. And the place was so cold my food was cold within minutes. Definitely the worst steakhouse I've been to by far. After the waiter told me they swith suppliers everything made sense cause even the failed attempt of a lava cake was bad. Price didn't reflect taste sadly.
Extremely expensive steak $70) that was over cooked and tasteless. It was bizarre—the meat had no flavor! Sides were expensive and similarly tasteless. The cocktails were medicinal. I'm grateful the waiter offered to take them off of the bill when he saw we were not drinking them. Service was very good. Perhaps this was an “off night,” but at this price point we left extremely disappointed. The least expensive wine on the menu is a Malbec at $54.
For what they charge, I would have expected better. The beet salad special was very good as was the wedge salad. Both generous in size and flavor. The filet was good, not great. It was cooked to the right temperature, if not slightly passed. It was very tender, but seemed to be lacking that great steak flavor. This is one of the best places to go for date night. The atmosphere and hospitality is as good as it gets! The cook is amazing to say the least. His steaks are so tender and juicy and taste so good words cannot do it justice. The owners are so nice and make sure you have an awesome experience!
