We came in with 4 people on a Thursday night. Super friendly staff and our pick of tables, although there were several filled with diners having aninated conversations. The heavy wood furniture and dark interior make you feel contained and cozy there is a projector with low volume sports running on one wall. Our waiter was very helpful and had some funny (well practiced) waiter jokes. The menu is ten pages with photos and dish names in cyrillic, with English translations. I suggest ordering multiples plates and eating family style to get to try more of what they offer. Mehanata is a delightful Bulgarian restaurant featuring charming ethnic decor and a range of authentic Bulgarian dishes. I want to emphasize that the presentation of the food feels more homemade and traditional compared to what you might find in an average restaurant. During our visit, we sampled their cold soup, Tarator, as well as the Shopska salad and Combo Shashlik. I particularly appreciated the way the shashlik was presented on skewers, and the meat was both juicy and tender.
As someone who has no experience with Bulgarian food, let me tell you. The inside is so pretty! Our waiter was so nice. We brought in a cake and he gladly cut it up for us after our dinner. We ordered the salad with the cucumbers and tomatoes and cheese. Omg so good! The cheesy bites with the blueberry jam, delicious and my favorite! The yogurt with idk what….delicious lol. The chicken shish kabob and the Bulgarian sausage was so good!
I had a fantastic experience with exceptional food and service. I dined in for dinner and spent around $30–50 per person. The food was a solid 5 out of 5, the service was also a perfect 5, and the atmosphere was equally impressive, rated a 5. I highly recommend trying the Shopska Salad and the Mehanata Cake. The food is fantastic! We had a large group and relied on the servers recommendations for mostly appetizers. Everything was amazing...super fresh and tasty. Great calamari. The pita and scoop salad were delicious. Also the peppers app. I need to figure out how to get back there soon...I'm a little obsessed.

Amazing restaurant! One of the best meals I have ever had. Unique and delicious Bulgarian food at surprisingly low prices. The spicy baked goat cheese was outstanding along with the mehanata cake.
