This is a superb little find, a short walk away from the busy (and rather variable) Upper Street strip. Set in a mostly residential Barnsbury area, the restaurant decor is classy and the service is top notch as a good fine dining establishment rather than your local curry house. My dishes were tasty, plentiful and good value with some nice little touches and attention to detail. I took advantage of an early week special menu which made it even better value. I'm surprised this gem isn't more popular; I'm a fan and I will be back.
great eating, but stroppy waiter, who could not be harassed to do his job we went to valentine when we were in the opposite, but the waiter ruined the atmosphere after so many mistakes at the end of me and my man had to laugh well, eating was nice. I understand that waiters make a hard job and I give them credit, but he was terrible and rude, the man apologising he was tired if it were my restaurant he got his p45 and skillful packaging. I will come back because the eating was good hopefully he won't on
It's difficult to find an Indian that doesn't just think it can fob British people off with a spicy tomato sauce and call it a tikka masala. Memsaab is a great find. The food here is excellent even down to the chutneys for popadoms. Have since ordered takeaway from here, and am confident that I will stick with them as our Indian restaurant in Islington. Definitely eat here. It isn't as cheap as other Indian restaurants, but you do get what you pay for.
We had dinner there after watching football at the Emirates. We started with some popadoms and chutneys all very tasty and fresh. we then had chicken biryani and balti chicken dupiaza both excellent and we could not eat anything else after this as it was very filling. On top of that the staff was super friendly, so it was a very pleasant dinner. It's a shame that we live in the South otherwise we'd be there way more often! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We had a great evening at Memsaab, the food was very good, service fantastic, and the atmosphere was a nice change from the normal curry house environment. Memsaab is housed in an old Barnsbury pub, so there is plenty of space, tall ceilings and a very pleasant atmosphere without it being ott or a bit too glam. Much better quality, value and vibe than anything we have tried on upper street.
Really great find for us. The food was delicious and Hussain, our waiter, was very attentive and helpful in his recommendations and the timing of the food. My daughter is a vegetarian and found lots of choices. Will definitely come back.
the food was good, although that was too dry. the Danshak sauce was much spicier than put on others. otherwise it was ok, even if the dining room deserves a little more decoration.
