I enjoy stopping by this restaurant a few times a year when I'm in Aylmer, Ontario, looking for some delicious Mexican food and groceries. However, I was disappointed to see that some employees were not wearing masks and were fussing about having to wear them. Many patrons in the store were also not wearing masks or practicing social distancing. It is unfortunate that Middlesex County was slow to reach level three status during the pandemic. Despite signs posted, no one was screening at the door. Menomex is a popular spot for both tourists and locals in the Menonite/Mexican community. This is the first time we have had a chance to stop in after driving past for a couple of years on Hwy #3. Glad we finally did. Ordered the quesadilla to go. Much like a sub shop, the filling is added to your liking at the lunch counter (note- this is a take-out place, there is nowhere to sit inside to eat). Food was grilled beautifully, just a little char on the outside and melty inside. Avoid this restaurant at all costs. I wouldn't purchase anything from this establishment. The employees do not wear masks, deny the existence of Covid, and handle products with their bare hands. It is a breeding ground for germs and viruses. The produce is subpar, with some peppers showing signs of bruising. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place.
I typically buy 3 or 4 at a time and cut them in half and make a mini meal out of them. $3.95 a piece vegetarian or $4.95 with meat at Mennomex and you have to order ahead since the Virus. Probably one of the best deals in town. Beans eggs rice potatoe tomatoe onion fried jalapenos cilantro salsa a squeeze of lime.
We drive a fair distance to shop the selection of Mexican groceries and enjoy a meal. The grocery section has a variety of hard-to-find items as well as family packs of Mexican treats. The lunch counter offers up tacos, quesadillas, and burritos at a reasonable price. The tamales alone are worth the drive!
We are regular customers of this Mexican kitchen. It's located in the back of the store and is primarily take-out although they do have a couple of pub style tables chairs. They have daily lunch specials and dinner menu on the weekend. Great food great service. BEST burritos !!!
This restaurant has a wide selection of unique items, but the made-to-order food is the real standout. It's absolutely delicious! If you enjoy Mexican cuisine, this should be at the top of your list. Don't forget to grab some tamales to-go for a delicious treat on the way home!
Came for family Christmas and HAD to stop in for breakfast! Best breakfast ever! I have missed this the past 4 years because I live in alberta. Please open one there!!
Artful clean store with friendly informative staff. My husband likes the home made egg noodles, Mexican food grocery products and I also enjoy the gift area.
