This café is excellent! I’ve been coming here for about 40 years, and it’s just as good as I remember from my youth. They serve delicious toasted sandwiches as well as regular sandwiches. The tea and coffee are great, and the location is lovely, with convenient parking. The staff is always friendly and helpful. You can choose to dine in or take away. I’m very lucky to have a relative who will travel from Lancashire just to enjoy this delightful spot in Yorkshire. I highly recommend it! Just keep in mind that it’s not unusual, and prices are reasonable.
I had lunch here and ordered a big, juicy hot dog and a Twill sandwich, both of which were absolutely delicious. However, I can't recommend the latte or cappuccino. We asked for large sizes, but the cups we received were small and more expensive than what you'd find at Costa Coffee or Pret a Manger. After finishing our meal, we both noticed that the coffee left a bitter aftertaste. I would definitely return, but definitely not for the coffee!
Delicious sandwiches and cakes! The atmosphere is lovely, and the service is quick. There are plenty of parking spaces available, and they also offer a convenient drive-thru for those who prefer not to sit inside. While the interior may feel a bit dated, the wonderful food more than makes up for it!
Brilliant cafe. Merrie England is a very welcoming, cosy place for a catch up and good food. The staff here are very polite and the service is rapid. Merrie England are also taking all the right precautions against Covid-19 and so I would recommend it to anyone in the area.

Delicious food some may think bit pricey but foods bang on for quality . You have option to eat in or use drive through . There's parking for about 30 to 40 cars . They also have several shops in Huddersfield town centre
