The waiter really sold the place. It was a very, very nice place. Outdoor it was fully booked, but after some hesitation we decided to give it a try indoor as it looked nice and local. Tourists were outside and locals inside. So far better to enjoy the spanish indoor. We had bacalao and black pig. It was supposed to be very good choices but they were not memorable at all. First and last time for black pig. We are just to bacalao in Portugal and sorry to say that the one we got here could not match what we get in Portugal. However, it was so nice to be indoor watching and listening to the people that it was more than ok
We where invited here by some friends that live locally. I must say their choice of venue was excellent. The food was outstanding, we started with an unusual salad which included mango and avocado followed by balls of bacala in batter. This was a speciality of my Italian mother I must say the restaurant's version was very good close to my mother's standard. Last course was t bone steak served on a hot sizzling plate absolutely delicious. The waiters where very cordial and attentive. Overall good quality food and wine at a reasonable cost, for me it was a truly memorable occasion.
At here for lunch We witnessed a lovely man ordering a glass of wine He was promptly asked to leave when the waiter realised he didn’t actually want to eat- just enjoy a glass of wine. The man was embarrassed and the restaurant lost out on the price of the wine There were several tables unoccupied at the time Such a shame
This is the second time at La Cocinilla and it was (at least) as good as the first. Excellent perfectly cooked (imaginative) Food the first time chuleton and this time secreto iberico in Cidre as the main course. Attentive, polite Service and reasonably priced for the Quality...
