Mi Carreta Mexican Grill

Mi Carreta (My Wagon) Mexican Grill has a grand look to it. The whole place has a cool motif going on, both inside and out. The chips came with a standard salsa and white sauce (not a fan), it was like a ranch mayonnaise dip. I ordered Arroz Con Pollo, which wasn't the traditional Mexican dish nor the typical local basic ACP. It was a hybrid of the two, which is an upgrade from the latter. The onions, mushrooms, and mole sauce add much needed flavor. I ate the dish on flour tortillas topped with some black beans and homemade hot sauce, it was an excellent combination. Overall my Mi Carreta experience was very good. Neat building, clean bathrooms, nice staff, and great food. I will return.

Interestingly, the restaurant has a designated smoking section, which is rare these days, but I personally think it's great. They also feature a nice bar area, and while I haven't tried their margaritas yet, I've heard they’re fantastic. We've been frequenting this spot for years and plan to continue dining here in the future. For vegetarians, they offer several options: instead of meat, you can select potatoes, cheese, black beans, or spinach for their enchiladas, tacos, chalupas, and burritos. They also have a house salad and cheese quesadilla available. Parking has become a bit of a challenge since the opening of the new Food Lion, as spaces have drastically decreased.

The food is fantastic, the drinks are excellent, and the service is outstanding. They truly go above and beyond. The outdoor terrace is lovely, especially with the ceiling fans.
