Went to Michels Patisserie this morning for breakfast with a friend and my toddler. Our drinks arrived probably a good 25 minutes before our meals. Ordered were, bacon and eggs, eggs Benedict, a piece of toast with honey and hash browns. The toast (bread) that came with the bacon and eggs was not toasted and the bacon and eggs were stone cold. The meal was returned, the bread toasted and sent back, the meal was colder than when it first came out. Sent back a second time to appear 20 minutes later. The toast with honey never arrived - the honey did in a ceramic pot. It was heated to the point of dangerous - it was hot enough that the honey would've caused a serious burn. I have given Michels multiple chances now and have been disappointed every single time. First time I asked for a toasted ham & cheese sandwich - I got ham, cheese & tomato. After taking it back an explaining that tomato makes me sick they took sandwich out the back, took tomato off and gave me back same sandwich. After taking a bite a realising what had happened I once again took it back and asked for a fresh one, next one was right but so soggy it was like it was deliberately put in water. We brought a Black Forest gateaux from this place today for a birthday cake. Before purchasing, we asked and were told that the cream in the cake was fresh cream. Later that night when blowing out the candles and cutting into the cake, found it to be filled with horrible mock cream. Too late at night to exchange for a new one, so had to serve our guests a crappy fake cream cake. The staff lied to us about this cake. I didn't know we lived in such frugal times that we had to substitute the real stuff for oil and sugar. But this is exactly what you will get at Michel's. This place has never had enough aircon, it's always hot, and the place always fills with oily smell, even it's a new cafe. I preordered a birthday cake two days before the Boxing Day, I paid in full in advance. On the day when I was picking up my cake they told me it had been picked up. I confirmed with my family no body had picked it up. They said they had given to a wrong customer with the same name. They kept me waited and waited and finally said they would make another one for me. But there was no apologies at all. Tried this place today, something new and know the chain. How disappointing. Bad everything, starting from the dirty tables, I counted 4 empty tables inside, 5 outside. 3/4 and 1/5 tables were dirty. Girl at the till miscalculated my order then we got our coffees and no cake. We had to go to the counter to ask thereabouts of the cake. 30 mins after sitting down. Pick up your game. New place, first time, last time. There's plenty other cafes around. Oh and the cheese cakes tasted like plastic.
We went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning and had a really good meal, I would recommend the eggs benedict and the coffee was also very nice. We found the staff to be very friendly and pleasant. The airconditioning has trouble coping with even a half full restuarant, they even have a couple of fans on the floor trying to move some air so if they can fix that they could get 5/5 from us.
Michels patisserie is a modern, youthful and peaceful place to have breakfast or lunch, it has a nice variety of food to try and moderate prices to go with it. But what stood out for me was their incredible designer cakes which has me eager to buy.

Coffee was uninspiring quite cool in temperature (even though we asked for extra hot) and quite weak. Takeaway meat pie was lukewarm. Really not the greatest visit
