What should I say about Mikado! Reservation is recommended.What I expect from a Japanese restaurant and much more. Staffs are skillful, professional and responsive. There are no problems in finding a parking space.There are booths, Tatami rooms as well as a large sushi bar from having lunch to more formal/private dinner.Let’s talk about food. I always go for the bento box for lunch. As for dinner, I tried 95% of the menu. Salad, BBQ squid, fresh oysters, tempura, chicken Kara-age, Beef/tuna Tataki, blue fin tuna, rolls, sushi, sashimi, Nigiri sushi, udon, grill fish and special promotion items. Fish is always fresh, tempura
We've also been to the Mikado in the west end of Edmonton and food at both locations is excellent. However, the downtown location is in dire need of some renos and better cleaning. The chairs and tables are showing a lot of wear and the rug was really dirty. Not sure why a restaurant would have rug instead of tile or vinyl flooring; much easier to keep clean. And the ladies bathroom was not nice at all. Won't return to this location again until some renos are done.
Mikado = Japanese restaurantSituated in a non descriptive mall, the restaurant is anything but beige. It has a beautiful decor, a long sushi bar and classic tatami rooms. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The food is fresh and fabulous. My recommendation is the grilled fish
This is my favourite Japanese restaurant in Edmonton (be prepared, though, to open the wallet a bit wider).! Outstanding quality and friendly, attentive staff - including the Sushi chefs. Always something new and creative on the menu. Highly recommended!

Visited Mikado for lunch with two friends. We all decided to have a bento box. Everything was well prepared and the sashimi was very fresh. Food came promptly and the service was excellent. My friends enjoyed their green tea ice cream.
Very good food and environment. Food was just very expensive. For two of us it was $100. Would love to eat in one of the private rooms though!
Fresh and amazing sushi. Took a friend for her first time eating sushi and she loved it. Clean and friendly service
Great service as usual, and terrific fresh foods. We asked for a booth and got it, and the restrooms were clean.
